"Alright, so are you guys ready?" Piper asked Aaron who was in the driver's seat and Vic who was in the back pouting over the dispute of who should get shotgun. Piper won, obviously.
"Ready as three wanted renegades could ever be." Vic mumbled. Piper rolled her eyes and grabbed her bag from the center console. Aaron sent a glare over the seat to Vic. Getting out of the car, Piper dug through her shoulder bag, looking for everything she would need for the day.
"Behave, this is only a cover up. Act normal." He warned. Vic rolled his eyes and waved him off.
"Yeah, yeah. I got it. When can we leave?" Vic asked. Aaron sighed.
Piper had already started walking towards the school.
"As soon as we can. Piper thinks this is a good idea, and if worse comes to worse, we can always dye our hair and change our names." Aaron offered. Vic smiled.
"I might just have to take you up on that." Vic said with a chuckle.
Aaron leaned in closer to Vic.
"I don't think this will work, but if Piper wants to try, then what can go wrong? I don't think it will hurt anything. We've been on the run for two years so what's another two?" He asked. Vic thought about it for a second and then nodded.
"But what if it works? And we're stuck here for however long it takes for the whole thing to blow over?" Vic asked. Aaron sighed.
"I don't know. I guess we haven't thought that far ahead yet, huh?" Aaron asked. Vic sighed.
"This is total horse shit." Vic growled. Aaron patted his shoulder.
"You said it man, now let's get going. Piper's waiting." Aaron grabbed the backpack that Vic passed him and they hopped out of the Ford Expedition. They'd bought it off a retailer and got plates on it and everything. They also made sure to ditch the Sedona and the Stratus.
Aaron sauntered up to the front of the high school with Vic right on his heels.
The two boys met Piper at the front door and they stalked in, headed directly for the office.
As they entered, whispers sounded around them as people stared at them and quesitoned about the newcomers.
Piper could tell it was a small school considering it looked as if the entire population was stationed in the main hallway.
"Could this place get any smaller?" Vic whispered to them both. Piper gave him a doubting look.
"Ten bucks says everyone knows our names by lunch." Aaron bet. Vic smacked his hand.
"Deal. And that means everyone, including the Freshies." Vic said. Aaron nodded. Piper rolled her eyes at the two boys as they entered the office.
The lady at the front desk smiled broadly at the three.
"Hello, Dears. How can I help you?" She asked. Vic and Piper exchanged a look. As if she didn't already know.
"We're here to get our schedules." The lady nodded and disapeared behind a door by the front desk. She walked back out with nine papers in hand.
They stepped forward to read them.
"Piper? Here's your schedule, books you will need and a map of the school. It shouldn't take you that long to figure out." The lady handed her the papers and Piper scanned them over. The lady turned to Aaron.
"Aaron? This is your schedule, map and books needed. You can all find them in the library on the second floor." She handed the papers to Aaron and then the remaining ones to Vic.
