"So tell me a little about yourself, Piper." Byron prodded. Piper gave him the best smile she could before clearing her throat. The ride to Blue Moon Diner had been silent, neither of the occupants in the car wanting to speak.

"Well, as you know, I'm a senior and attending high school here. I've been thinking about what I want to major in next year and was thinking about Biology or English." Piper responded, folding her hands in her lap.

She was nervous about the questions Detective Andrews would ask this evening, and she had thought through as many logical answers the best she could. She wasn't totally prepared, but as prepared as she could be.

"Those are both really good majors. What made you pick those?" Byron Andrews asked. Piper smiled.

"Well, I've always loved science and reading and decided at a young age I wanted to be a doctor, but then after a few years I decided that was way too much schooling for me and decided to be an engineer instead. Then I discovered Biomedical Engineers and that has been one of my most logical choices so far. I want to help people, but I want to use my skills with math and science as well. So I'm leaning toward that more so than the English." Piper responded.

"Impressive. You're one of the few girls that I've met that actually liked Math and Science." He complimented. Piper blushed a bit.

"Well, it's no criminal law, but it works." Piper said, beginning to relax. She knew she should be on her gaurd with Detective Andrews but for some reason, she felt like she could tell him anything.

"Criminal law wasn't my first choice. I actually wanted to be a pilot." He confessed. Piper cocked her head to the side while looking him up and down.

"I could see you as a pilot." She admitted. Detective Andrews smiled broadly.

"Yeah, but my father couldn't. I'm sure you know how that goes, you're parents wanting you to do something you don't really want to." He said. Piper's throat went dry. No, she really didn't know what that was like. Her foster parents never cared, and her parents were both dead, as far as she knew. She had no family.

"Of course. It can be really frustrating, I bet." She technically wasn't lying, just simply agreeing with what he said.

"So what about you, who is Piper?" He asked, crossing his arms so that he leaned forward on the table, his eyes watching for some sort of reaction. Piper cleared her throat which had gone nearly bone dry when he leaned into her personal space.

She was wildly uncomfortable, but at the same time, she couldn't stop the stupid butterflies from flitting around in her stomach like birds.

"Piper is just a normal, boring girl who enjoys reading and travelling with her brother and boyfriend." She replied innocently. Detective Andrews' eyes got wide and he leaned away from her, trying to put some distance between them at the mention of her boyfriend.

Byron wasn't going to impose on their relationship, he knew better and had more morals than most. Besides, even though he didn't know her boyfriend personally, the bro code is still in place.

"Boyfriend?" He asked, pulling an amused smirk into place.

Piper nodded.

"Aaron. He's been my boyfriend for a little more than two years now." She said.  Byron smiled.

"What about your parents, don't they have a problem with you travelling with two boys, one of them being someone you have a relationship with?" He asked. Piper tried to keep her smile in place.

"Well, they don't...mind. It wasn't like they could tell me no." She offered. Byron nodded.

"Have you had any other relationships?" He asked curiously. Piper stiffened.
