"Feeling comes with a price"
- Bridgett DevoueOne More Mistake
Chapter twenty-nine❱ Alec Armstrong was a strange guy, he was cruel and cold but his looks show you differently. His eyes looked so sweet and if you stared at them long enough you would feel like you're downing into them. Even though he rarely showed what he felt his look was so fascinating. They had this kind of affect on you and you'll feel compelled to stare.
He didn't seem like the type of person to get attached to people, or to say things that'll make someone feel important...but then again I didn't know anything about him. I've only met him a couple of times which made me wonder why he had said what he said.
I turn my head to look at him, his hand gripped the steering wheel while his eyes were locked on the road.
Just yesterday he was threatening a person with a gun and today he was acting like nothing happened.
Alec look over at me for a second but soon looked back at the road.
I was still looking at him.
His look was cool and dry but I remember how he was yesterday. I remember his cold eyes staring at me when I said something that spiked him. I felt his anger and a little part of me was scared of what he was capable of. I don't know anything about him, he could be a dangerous person but I wouldn't know.
Chills creep up my spin when I realized I was alone with him in the car. He could take me anywhere, maybe get payback from yesterday.
"I can't go to school dressed like this" I said lowly but since it was quiet, it came out loud.
Alec scrunched his eyebrows, before asking "what?" He looked like he was in thought before I spoke.
"I can't be dressed like this, I need to change" that's when he looked over at me and noticed what I was wearing which was the dress I had yesterday night.
He sighed before making a sharp U turn catching me off guard. I glared at him but he stepped on the accelerator.
He drove but away from where I lived, instead of going straight he took a right turn.
"Where are you taking me?"
"We can't go back to your house, it's pretty far and I live about a mile away." I wanted to say no but I realized that this could to be a good thing. I could look around his house, try to look for something that'll help me blackmail him. He already knew so much about me, he could easily blackmail me into doing something and I had to be prepared.
"Okay" was all I said as I look back at the window.
I hopped off the car while my eyes were locked on the beautiful home that stood before me.
"Your house is beautiful" I whispered in awe, I didn't want him to hear me but he did. He turned his head to look at me.
"It's not mine, I'm only living here temporarily" I tore my eyes away from the house to look over at him.
"I'm hardly here and my mother is always traveling so we decided to rent a house just for now" he didn't wait for me to ask questions because he made his way towards the main door.
I followed after him when he opened the doors but soon stopped when I entered.
The house was empty almost as if nobody lived here at all.
They didn't have furniture nor pictures hanged up on the walls, nothing, there wasn't a sign of living in here.
"This is where you live?" My voice echoed around the empty house.
"Cozy, isn't it?" He smiled as he looked around the room as if he had something to look at.
I turn back at the room and realized that finding something out of Alec would be much harder than I expected. He had nothing in here, not even a small coffee table.
"Wait here, I'm going to bring you something from upstairs" he jogged up the stairs before disappearing in the hallway.
I tore my eyes away his shadow, and sighed as I looked around.
I should've known this was going to happen, this was Alec after all. He probably brought me here because he knew I wouldn't find anything at all.
Instead of standing there, I walked around, hoping I'll find something but I didn't. I made my way back once I heard Alec's loud footsteps.
"I've got this simple white shirt and some blue jeans" he said as he handed them to me. Once I've got them, he pointed towards the bathroom door which was under the staircase.
When I shut the door, I looked all around but it was blank just like outside. There wasn't even toilet paper, it was blank.
When I walked out of the bathroom dressed in the clothes he gave me, I found Alec standing by the door with his phone glued to his ear. His eyebrows were furrowed and his lips were in thin line. His eyes were staring off the window and I don't think he realized I was out.
"Please believe me " I've never heard him sound so vulnerable, it felt foreign to my ears.
"L is responsible for this not me, I did not kill him." I took a step back once I realized what he said. He looked angry but I was just afraid of him.
Who could he be talking to? Who's death was he accused of?
Who was L?
