Chapter thirty-two❱ "Is that true? You know who did this to Rory?" I look away from Rory and lock eyes with Sterling. He stood tall while his eyes were narrowed and for some reason I felt like he knew I knew something.
"I'm not completely sure but yes I think I know who it is" I didn't want to give too much but one look at Sterling, I knew he found out enough.
"This person goes to royal high, right?" I look away from him and find Rory leaning on the couch with his hands stuffed on his pockets. His eyes flashed curiosity and smiled on how I was keeping him on his toes but of course he tried to hide it.
For a second I actually considered telling them everything, even the plan Alec and Raine made for Bruce but I stopped a thought crossed my mind.
"I'll tell you but with one condition" I walked by Rory and sat on the couch. I smiled at Sterling who was now in front of me.
"I want you to tell me... why'd you faked your death?" My question caught him off guard, his eyes widen a bit and he tensed up. Soon his eyes left mine and connected with Rory who was behind me. I turned towards him and noticed that they were giving each other knowing looks.
"You know? Don't you?" Rory didn't need to say anything to know that he knew.
"He was the one who planned it all" I felt my heart drop once I heard Sterling say that. I kept my eyes locked with Rory's and I was trying to read him but he gave me nothing.
"I can't tell you, I don't want to" I looked back at Sterling and there it was again. His face showed me how sorry he was but I know he was anything but that. If he were sorry he would tell me everything, he wouldn't keep this away from me.
"Why?" I stood up and walked towards him.
He didn't move away.
"Why can't you tell me?" I was hurt but he didn't care and it hurt.
"Why keep this away from me?" it hurt because I thought we were closer. I thought we trusted each other, but I guess I was wrong.
"Thea, I love you so much and I didn't mean to hurt you or anybody. I wish I could tell you but you won't understand" he explained yet he didn't answer any of my questions. I looked up at him and stared at his eyes. They looked sad and so different, it bothered me how much it hurt to see him like that.
I shouldn't be allowed to feel anything for him.
"I need to go" I say lowly before backing away and walking away but before I could leave, I heard Sterling call my name.
I stopped but didn't turn around to face him.
"Tell me who did it" he asked dryly.
"Raine" I say back and finally walk away.
It wasn't until I got out of his house that I realized something.
He used me.
He only needed me to find out the name or else he wouldn't even talk to me at all. He wouldn't invite me over to his house, he wouldn't be so caring to me. It all made sense now, he used me for Rory. He would do anything for him because he trusted him.
He is like a brother to him, is what everyone says.
It didn't hit me until now. I felt betrayed but this feeling wasn't foreign for me. I was used to it.
Sterling trusted him more than me and instead of making me sad, it made me feel angry.
He promised me he would always put me first. He promised me that he was always going be there for me.
He was a lair and now I hate him. I hate him so much and I thought I'll never actually come to despise him but I couldn't help it. He made me feel that way towards him and now I can't do anything about it.
My slow pace soon started to quicken and before I knew it, I was running.
I wasn't sure where I going but right now I didn't want to think. If I would start to think or even feel something, I'll loose it.
So I ran, and ran.
