About maybe 2 hours later, Max finally woke up to the noise of two loud idiots filled the room. He sat up too quickly and groaned, fuck...his head was killing him...

"Team Edward, he's clearly better! And hotter.", Gwen said, strongly opinionated. "But Jacob! He's clearly better for Bella! Plus vampires shouldn't be sparkly!! >:(", David interjected.
God, they were so annoying...

"erg..shut the fuckkk uppp....both suck 'cuz Twilight is assss... Quit bitchin' am trynaa sleep.", Max spoke groggily, rubbing his eyes as he tried to adjust to the bright light from the TV.

"Oh! Max! You're awake? Firstly, Language. Secondly, Is everything all right? Why were you in the kitchen? Are you sick...hurt?!!?", David asked, maybe a bit too worried, Max didn't look very sick or hurt but it's not wrong to ask.

"Jesus, you're loud... yeah I'm fine, just talking to the Quartermaster.", Max instinctively lied, well, not a complete lie, as weird as that guy seemed, he was good to talk to, Max must of fallen asleep at some point. He fiddled with the ear of his bear.

Max wasn't going to rat out Gwen, atleast probably not yet. She didn't really deserve it, it was his fault, even he would never admit to it out loud. Plus, he didn't feel like digging himself into a deeper hole.

Max's stomach growled slightly, he missed lunch and dinner, not unusual for him but he atleast ate like an apple or something. Gwen tossed him a bag of popcorn, "Come watch Twilight with us, I bet you're bored.", she said, somewhat relieved that Max didn't say anything about the bear situation. She felt a bit of regret, she really just wanted to move past that.

It's not like Max wanted to bring it up either. Max nodded quietly. He was still angry at Gwen, but he'd rather just take the popcorn and watch shitty movies with them. Thank God that David didn't offer to make anything. He would have made him a bowl of hippie oatmeal and bananas for the heart and soul. Anything is better than oatmeal. He sat on the arm of Gwen's chair.

The three sat and watched Twilight for who knows how long.
"Did you know that Jacob is sharkboy from Sharkboy and Lavagirl?", Max randomly asked during the end credits. At that point already just sharing the seat with Gwen. It was a pretty big sofa.

"...Like actually? Hmm, that's interesting.", Gwen said, she never really noticed.

Max continued to watch the movie. He liked watching movies. Trash movies, horror movies, kids movies, they were all the same to him. He always liked movies. Pixar and DreamWorks movies were his favorite. Watching Wall-E and Kung Fu Panda gave him a sense of childhood nostalgia he sort of forgot he had, which was strange since he was a child.

Thinking about it more, Max remembered how sometimes he would walk home from school and find old CDs in the trash infront of people's houses. He'd take as many undamaged ones as he could home and pop them into the CD player for him and his parents to watch until it was late at night. Those were nicer time. But that was a long time ago, Max didn't really want to linger too much in the past.

He ran his hand tiredly along Mr. HoneyNuts' fuzzy fur, a bit zoned out. He wasn't actually paying attention to the movie anymore, not like he needed to, he'd seen the movie before anyway.

But it was nice. The moment was nice. He felt that very calm and relieved feeling rush over him. It was nice. This was nice.

He leaned his head against the arm of the chair, deciding that this was enough shitty movies for today. He petted his bear in the same repetitive motion, eventually falling asleep.

It was a nice moment while it lasted.

Extra:
Gwen switched the TV off, both Max and David have fallen asleep. She went to grab some blankets for the three of them. She threw one onto David and then wrapped one onto Max, who was asleep, clinging tightly to the teddy bear, as it would be taken away from him again. Gwen looked at him, somewhat understanding now why Max was so desperate to get his stuffed animal.

She sat back down next to Max and thought about today. Although she didn't get the job, she wasn't completely upset. She had David, her shitty little campers, and this shitty little camp. Everything was how it should be.
