Relationship: Understanding + Protective
- Taeyong is very protective of Sooyoung and treats her as if she was his younger sister. This is mainly due to him knowing the struggles Sooyoung had to undergo with other trainees pre-debut. As soon as she was apart of the NCT project he made sure that she was never excluded or alienated again.
- The two balance out each other well, they understand each other and subconsciously show their care for one other through their actions towards each other and other members.
- Despite their age gap they are quite close as Sooyoung looks up to Taeyong as a huge role model both from a musical standpoint as well as on a personal basis
- Sooyoung will go to Taeyong if something is bothering her, since he was the first person to show her unconditional support pre-debut she knows that he will always be there for her. Despite typically having a hard time communicating her deeper feeling she know Taeyong will provide his unbiased and guiding opinion no matter what.
- They don't have too many interactions on camera so nctzens don't really see how close they are with one another, but their rare on camera interactions are cherished by fans as they show how nurturing Taeyong is to the younger girl.
