"Today, we're saying goodbye to Carter Jackson – a guy who was a great son, an excellent husband to Lydia Jackson, and the most incredible dad to Sam and me.

Sam and I were heading downstairs to hang out with Mom. It's been a tough day for all of us, especially Mom.

"Hey, Mom, what do you think about moving somewhere new?" Sam asked, plopping down on the couch next to her.

"Why? What's up?" Mom asked, looking concerned.

"This place just reminds me too much of Dad. I miss him so much," Sam said, tearing up.

"Yeah, I feel the same. Dad's presence is everywhere here," I said, sitting beside Mom.

"Where do you even have in mind?" Mom asked. "What about your old childhood home?" Sam suggested.

"Oh, that old place? Well, I could check if it's up for grabs," Mom said, scrolling through her phone.

"It is, but they want us there within a week," Mom said.

"Then let's jump on it and move!" I exclaimed, but Mom and Sam didn't seem so sure. "It's not that easy. We've got a ton of packing to do, and we've got to get to Winter River by next week," Sam pointed out.

"Your brother's got a point, Spiderr. It's a big move," Mom agreed.

By the way, Mom and Dad used to call me Spider or Baby Spider. Mom still uses it a lot. It's a cute nickname; it always makes me think of Dad. But let's get back to the story.

"Still, it might be worth a shot. Your dad and I always talked about going back," Mom mused. "HECK YES! Let's start packing!" Sam and I shouted together.

As we packed, I turned to Sam. "Hey, do you think this is a good idea? Mom didn't seem too thrilled about the house," I asked.

"What do you mean?" Sam looked up, curious. "Who knows, maybe it's just Dad's memory, or... maybe something else," I trailed off, but Sam burst out laughing, and I couldn't help but join in.

After we calmed down,  it was way late when we finally went to bed.

"Wake up, guys! We're here," Mom's voice woke us up. "I'm so ready to check this place out," Sam said, practically jumping out of the car. I laughed, and Mom playfully smacked my arm.

"First, let's get all this stuff inside and unpacked. Then we can grab some grub in town," Mom said, taking charge. We spent the whole day hauling boxes and setting up our new stuff.

Finally, tired but happy, we decided to order pizza. "Mom, I'm gonna go snoop around while we wait," I announced. Sam tagged along, and we made our way up to the attic.

"You wanna open it, or should I?" Sam asked, eyeing the attic door. "You go for it," I said.

Sam swung the door open, and we stepped inside, greeted by an unexpected sight—a sweet model town with 'Lydia Deetz' scribbled on the wall. "Turn around slowly," Sam said, sounding intrigued.

"Why? You think there's a rat back there?" I joked, but a couple stood in our attic when I turned. "Hey, what are you doing in our attic?" Sam demanded, immediately stepping in front of me to protect me.
