I chanted those familiar words, feeling excitement and nerves as I summoned Beetlejuice. He appeared with his signature grin, and I wasted no time asking for his help with my math homework.

But being Beetlejuice, he brushed off the idea of doing anything boring like math and suggested doing something fun instead.

I warned him about the risk of my family finding out because if they did, I would be a dead girl walking. He seemed unfazed by what I was telling him. Still, I couldn't shake the idea of going on an adventure with him.

So, I suggested going to the netherworld, and he was surprisingly up for it. We explored creepy yet fascinating places, having the time of our afterlife.

But our fun was cut short when we unexpectedly bumped into Adam. I panicked, trying to come up with a believable excuse.

Before I could, my dad showed up, surprisingly calm about the situation. He insisted we head back home, and I knew I'd have to face Mom.

Fast-forward a month, and things seemed back to normal—until Dad called for a serious family meeting about going to the netherworld. Mom freaked out, and we all had questions. But eventually, we agreed to say goodbye to the kid (that's me).

When they left, I couldn't help but feel worried about Mom getting stuck there. I hugged her tightly, promising she'd come back. Mom couldn't promise that, but she hugged me back, reassuring me as best as possible.

And with that, they were off, leaving me with a mix of emotions and uncertainty.'
