This next chapter is going to be a mix of "The Tree of Life" and "The River of Patience".
"Bunga!" Fuli scolded. Bunga had caused a large rock slide after trying to get some bees, blocking them off from the Tree of Life. While Kion had said that his scar was healed after they became mates, Fuli saw that he wasn't telling the complete truth. He was more in control than before they became mates, but still needed her to calm him down sometimes. The tuliza wasn't working to calm him down, either, so that increased their urgency. Ono's eyes were a problem, but if Kion Roared at one of them, there was no telling what would happen. His Roar was getting even more powerful than ever, but he needed to control himself.
Kion watched Fuli scold Bunga, since they figured she should stay in charge until they got to the Tree. He wanted to Roar at Bunga, but before he could say anything, he got knocked over by a brown lion. He pushed up on the lion with his back paws, knocking the lion backwards. "What are you doing?"
The lion turned to face Kion. "What are you doing? You invaded the Tree and caused a rock slide." He jumped for Kion, knocking him up the rock pile.
"The rock slide was an accident!" Kion pulled himself up and away from the lion, facing it.
"That's what you say!" The lion argued, facing Kion.
Fuli felt the wind pick up and saw the clouds start to cover the sky. "Kion! No! You can't Roar here! It's just going to make things worse!"
"Roar?" The lioness attacking Fuli looked at Kion, then the lion attacking him. "Baliyo! It's not safe! Get back here! Night Pride, stop the attack!"
The wind slowed down before Kion jumped down the rocks. "Sorry. You can see why we're here."
"Yes." The lioness who attacked Fuli answered. "I'm Rani, leader of the Night Pride and queen of the Tree of Life. We protect everyone at the Tree from who may cause harm, like what you and your Roar almost did."
"How do you know about my Roar?" Kion asked.
"The Roar was first discovered here." Rani explained. "At the Tree of Life. Do you mind clearing away the rocks with it?"
"I don't know." Kion shook his head. "I'm not in complete control of the Roar."
"Kion, just stay calm and focus." Fuli's voice was gentle. "You can do it."
"Alright." Kion turned to the all the animals. "Get behind me." After the Night Pride and Lion Guard went behind Kion, he turned towards the rock pile and felt the wind start to pick up. He opened his mouth to let out his Roar, but it was much weaker than normal. Kion summoned all of his energy to Roar, and managed to clear the rock pile, but suddenly, he was extremely exhausted. The world seemed to fade away as he was dimly aware of himself falling to the ground and his mate's voice until he just saw black.
Kion opened his eyes to find himself standing in front of Mufasa. He couldn't bring himself to say out loud what immediately came to his mind. Mufasa must've realized what he was thinking, since he chuckled. "No, Kion. You're still alive. I just needed to talk to you. You haven't talked to me in a while. I'm worried you forgot about me."
"I'd never forget about you." Kion answered. "Just with this scar, I felt like I couldn't face you until I became mates with Fuli. And after that, I'd no need to talk to you at that moment. I thought you might be busy and I would interrupt you."
