Part Thirteen

They all look like players but in fact would have to be the most loyal and faithful men you'd ever find. I stared at Kenai's table where he sat with his friends laughing and I recalled what he told me.

"The thing my dad told us kids is that Hunt's Love Only Once. The women we fall for will be who we least expect, they become our biggest weakness but also our greatest strength, who are just as strong. And once we find the love of our lives we stop searching. We are Hunt's by name, Hunter's by nature."

"Was Jesse unexpected then?" Kenai's smile was of pure love.

"I fell for that brat before I knew what was happening. She isn't my usual type I go for and that's why I understand what my dad meant with those words"

They were all sweet talkers like their father, mental cases like their mother lol. I watched as a girl tried to attract Kenai's attention but he brushed her off. I grinned just thinking what Jesse's reaction would be if she was here and then I laughed because I knew she would've carved the girl a new face. I noticed most of the girls checking out the brothers and their friends. My shift was just finishing so I walked up to Samuel and glared at the girl who had the balls to put her hand on Sam's shoulder. Sam put his arm around my waist as we walked over to the rest of the boys to leave. We headed outside and Lauina was standing there waiting with her friends like I didn't see this coming. The boys all stood in front of me as though to protect me. I'd already spotted my cousins car so I was getting excited about what was about to go down. I was itching to get my hands on Lauina and my cousins were to stop her friends and keeping it a fair fight. My cousin Lena walked forward to Tavita and I couldn't help but giggle at Tavita's expression. He looked absolutely dumbfounded. They started making out and I started getting miffed at Lena for playing her role a little too well but I knew she'd fall for Tavita once she laid eyes on him. Lauina continued shouting abuse and when she swore at Tavita I lost my sh** and ran straight for her. What happened next became a blur because next thing I knew, Tavita was lifting me off Lauina as though I weighed nothing. Satisfied with the way she looked my first instinct was to walk to Samuel and boy was he angry. The lecture he gave I knew was because he was scared for me. But to do it in front of people was embarrassing to say the least. It was the first time he has ever been angry at me. We got in his car and he practically sped.

"Samuel slow down pls" he ignored me and accelerated more.

"Slow down! Your scaring me!" He finally let his foot off but his sharp turns into streets still had me clutching my seatbelt for dear life.

"Why are you so damn irresponsible?"

"I had it under control Sam. I knew my cousins were going to show up"

"And that's ok? And what if they didn't show up? What if Sandra and her friends were better fighters than you and your cousins?"

"Lauina" I quietly corrected.

"Does it look like I care what her name is?"

"l was just helping Tavita"

"My little brother is more than capable of taking care of himself. Did he put you up to this?" He was getting riled even more

"No the whole idea was mine."

"What games are you playing at Kaylana?"

"I'm not playing any games. Why are you pretending like the kiss didn't happen?"

"Who said I was? One thing you need to understand with me is you don't play games with me. Cause when I play, I'm playing for keeps."

"What are you saying?"

"The moment we kissed, you became my girl. Or do you think I go around kissing girls all the time? Or did you think nothing of it?" I went to respond but I was too speechless. Hell he could've told me I was his. It would've saved me hours of over analyzing everything.

"Normal men ask girls out first so that they know they're a couple or was I suppose to just assume?" He hissed in frustration.

"Your doing my head in"

"It seems to be my specialty" I retorted sarcastically.

"You wanna be my Keige or not?"

"I do but.."

"Nah sorry, you already said yes, there's no if's or but's"

"Wait, I'll be your Keige under one condition." He sighed annoyed and already bored

"What"

"You're never to hit me..I know! You said you would never and I believe you but please I need you to promise. I know your word is your bond"

I waited nervous he might reconsider wanting me. He pulled the car over and stared at me.

"On my honour I will never fasi you. I'll never lay a finger on you in anger"

I smiled and unbuckled my seat belt so I could sit on his lap and kiss him. He chuckled and kissed me back before lifting me back into my seat.

"Even if sometimes I think you need a mean fasi" he winked at me with laughter in his eyes. I swatted his arm back playfully but laughed.
