Kakashi gave them a closed-eye smile. "Yes. The three of you are being dropped from the program permanently."
----
Shocked at his statement, Naruto yelled at his teacher. "Drop us from the program?! That means we can't become ninjas! And what do you mean three? We are four!"
Still smiling, Kakashi continued. "Yes. Three, while you struggled to get a bell, Tsuki over here got one with ease."
Disappointed, everyone looked at Tsuki, who pulled the bell out of her pocket and held it up in front of their faces, proud of her accomplishment.
"Wow, Tsuki-chan... you are... amazing..." Sakura tried to sound happy for her crush but struggled to hold her tears in.
The blue-haired girl looked at her in surprise, noticing the change of her voice, and glanced at the disappointed faces of her teammates.
"You aren't fit to be ninjas, because you don't think like one. You think like little kids, like brats." Kakashi mocked.
Sasuke got up and ran at full speed to the jonin, only to get thrown on the ground and get stepped on. "You think it's all about you. You don't know what it means to be a ninja, you think it's a game. Why do you think we put you in a group? Did you even think about that question for only one moment?"
Confusion was spread across all the genins' faces. "You didn't even realize what this exercise is about! It's so simple. Four people on a squad, why do you think we would do that?"
Naruto yelled confused. "Argh, how should we know that!?"
"It's so basic. Teamwork!" Kakashi stated loudly.
Ringing in Tsuki's ears, she fell back a little, blending the voices out. 'W-what?' she thought.
When Kakashi called out to Sakura, Tsuki heard the voices again. "You were so obsessed with finding Tsuki, that you ignored Naruto who was struggling right in front of you and wouldn't even help him!
Tsuki... you got all of the bells, but you only focused on getting one for yourself! You didn't even consider giving one to the others!"
Kakashi shook his head and then continued. "Naruto! You do everything on your own, everything!
And you Sasuke, you thought the others were beneath you and worthless.
Arrogance.
Ninja missions are carried out in squads, of course, you need different kinds of skills, but teamwork is the most important thing."
Tsuki blended him out again. She gulped, looking back and forth, from the bell to her comrades.
The bluenette felt something she didn't feel often. She felt pity for the others. She got the bell, but if the real objective was to get a bell with her team, then she had not done it correctly and that bothered her.
The feeling of failure rose, so Tsuki angrily gritted her teeth and threw her bell to Kakashi, who caught it with ease.
Their sensei glanced at it before watching the Takeshi intensely, his thoughts staying in his mind.
Tsuki crossed her arms and sat down next to Sakura.
Sakura explained to her, that if she was giving her bell back, she would fail too, but the Takeshi ignored her, glaring at the ground.
Kakashi sighed and stated that he would give them a second chance after they ate their lunches, but it would be harder to get a bell.
Before leaving, he addressed with a serious look in his eye, that if someone feeds Naruto, they would fail, because it was his punishment for trying to eat before the others.
