Chapter 1 - First Academy Day

It was a beautiful, sunny day. You could hear loud cheering from kids that were playing around.

Konohagakure, the Village Hidden in the Leaves was providing ninja training in the academy this year as well and just like last time, there were many candidates who wanted to become a genin.

Just like these children, there was someone else walking towards the academy.

Kagami Takeshi and her daughter Tsuki were walking hand in hand towards the loud crowd of people.

No one was standing in their way as everyone made space for them.

The older Takeshi was a very beautiful, young-looking woman, and her daughter who inherited her looks made everyone focus on them automatically. It was no wonder since their silky dark-blue hair that flowed gently in the wind and the piercing gray eyes that seemed to shine like the moon were certainly standing out.

Kagami's smile was always gentle and heartwarming, the complete opposite was her daughter Tsuki. The young girl wasn't smiling and had a rather dark look on her face.
Since this was a rather special day for the children, everyone interpreted her behavior as nervousness.

The girl, however, was neither anxious nor worried about her first day at school, in fact, she had no aspirations or harbored any kind of special feeling towards it. She maybe felt relieved, but that was all.

She learned this when she was very little: Don't expect too much, since it might be a disappointment. And since Tsuki remembered the last few months and what horror they harbored, the chances of her being positive was very low.

You see, the small bluenette bears the Takeshi name. This clan has always been renowned for their strong ninjas and their ability to fight. These ninjas were permanently coolheaded and concentrated, they were disciplined from a young age and were training since childhood to become strong fighters.
Their ninjutsu and ninja work was prioritized as perfect. They needed to be.

Anyone who heard that would think that there would be no flaw, but there was a huge one indeed: Only the male population of this clan could be a ninja since they were the only people to own chakra and knew how to use it.

That's the exact reason why Tsuki is a unique girl: She possesses chakra and is able to use jutsus.

Tsuki didn't see that as a blessing though, instead of living a normal life like every other female Takeshi, she needed to endure a lot of hard ninja training. The girl also wasn't allowed to quit so simply, because if she did, the clan's name would be trashed.
That absolutely could not happen.

The girl's luck was also not in her favor since her father Hideaki has always been a very strict man who would take every opportunity to train his child.

And then there was that person.
A very respected person bearing the great Takeshi name.

Ken'ichi.

Tsuki's older brother, the perfect example of the Takeshi shinobi, a genius since birth. Ken'ichi was always the cool and strong ninja who would take on any mission and succeed in it. Nothing could make him falter.

Be as strong as him. This was her only goal. However, Tsuki soon realized, that she was no genius.

Tsuki stood in front of the academy's gates now. She looked up to the building and pulled her long hair out of the way.

'It's getting too long.'  she thought, mentally judging the length of her hair.

The girl inhaled deeply.
This was a normal day. No big deal, she simply had to go inside the building and learn. Nothing difficult, right?

Okay, maybe she was a little nervous after all.
