"Mark please don't." Jinyoung begged him the next morning. Jaebum had walked by them and Mark was ready to start swinging.

"I said I would do it." Mark reminded him, trying to get pass Jinyoung.

"I thought you were joking. Jaebum isn't worth it anyway." Jinyoung said, he was getting tired of trying to hold Mark back.

"You're right, he isn't." Mark said, finally relaxing enough for Jinyoung to hesitantly let go of him.

"But you are." Mark added as he pushed past Jinyoung and went to look for Jaebum.

"Mark." Jinyoung whined, trying to catch up to his best friend.

Mark finally found Jaebum outside with Jackson. Mark wasn't dumb, he knew it would be illegal to him Jaebum since he was the next alpha but that didn't stop him from wanting to.

"What the fuck is your problem?" Mark yelled out, catching the attention of the duo, along with a few people who were hanging around.

"What the hell are you talking about?" Jaebum asked, raising his eyebrow at him that made Mark's eye twitch in irritation.

"Do you want me to yell it out?" Mark asked threateningly, crossing his arms over his chest.

"Can we all just calm do-" Jackson started, stepping up to try to get in between them.

"Shut up, Jackson."

"No, dumbass."

Were the two responses that he got, Jackson dramatically gasped and backed away.

"Fine, I'll stay out of this." Jackson mumbled to himself, still upset at the name he received from Mark.

"Mark, why the hell are you so fast?" Jinyoung jogger up to him after he finally found him after losing him.

"I'm trying to talk to Jaebutt over here." Mark explained, earning a snort from Jackson at the name.

"Jaebutt?" Jaebum questioned out loud, offended by the name.

"I told you not to." Jinyoung ignored Jaebum, narrowing his eyes and giving Mark a threatening glare.

"Well somebody's gotta fix this mess and it's not gonna be you guys, y'all are too hardheaded, and it's not gonna be Jackson, he's too dumb, so it has to be me." Mark explained, getting a few displeasured noises from the others.

"I don't need Jaebum, let's just forget about him." Jinyoung said lowly, his heart, along with Jaebum's, twisting at his words.

"And then what? Risk you getting mated with a complete creep? Jinyoung, your parents don't care about you. They're greedy and would sell you to the highest bidder." Mark said lowly, the words only heard to the trio.

"Your parents are selling you?" Jaebum asked, not loud enough for others to hear. His heart churned at the thought of someone doing that to his Jinyoung.

"That's none of your business." Jinyoung snapped at him, earning a sigh from Mark.

"That's it, you and Jaebum are gonna talk wether you like it or not." Mark finally snapped, grabbing Jackson's wrist and dragging him away.

After they left, a silence filled the air, it was uncomfortable. Jinyoung felt like running, but he stayed rooted to his spot, almost like he couldn't move.

"Well? Are you gonna answer my question?" Jaebum asked, waving a hand in front of Jinyoung's blank face.

"No, why should I? I'm just a selfish per-" Jinyoung started, getting sarcastic right away that had Jaebum gritting his teeth in irritation.

"Gosh, will you ever quit being petty? I'm sorry for calling you selfish, now can you please tell me what's going on?" Jaebum asked, a little bit of desperation and irritation laced in his voice. Jinyoung looked up at him with wide eyes, not expecting Jaebum's words.

"Fine." Jinyoung sighed in defeat, and finally, Jaebum let out a smile.

But it was soon wiped when Jinyoung told him everything, and was replaced by a scowl.

"Wait, let me get this straight. Your parents basically beat you up whenever the fuck they want to, they sold your virginity and now they're trying to sell you because they think that you're not mated?" Jaebum asked, his anger flaring when Jinyoung gave him a small, hesitant nod.

"That's fucking bullshit, I'm your mate. Just tell them, I'll even meet them if they need proof." Jaebum suggested, waiting for Jinyoung's response.

"But I don't want you to be my mate!" Jinyoung almost yelled out, and he's sure a few people heard him because low gasps were heard in the distance. Jaebum froze, a wave of hurt washing over him but of course, he wouldn't let it show. Not to Jinyoung and certainly not to the people who were now closely watching.

"You think I want to be your mate? You're always whining about everything, you're bratty and ignorant. I'm tired of it!" Jaebum snapped, earning a few more gasps from the crowd, who had formed, and a scowl from Jinyoung.

"You're an asshat, Jaebum. If you don't want to be my mate then reject me. Do it right now, in front of all these people." Jinyoung yelled out, sticking a hand out towards the crowd that had formed.

"Jinyoung, shut the hell up." Jaebum lowly said, so that the crowd wouldn't be able to hear.

"Or what?" Jinyoung asked, equally as low.

"Don't suggest something that you'll regret later on." Jaebum said, and now the crowd was starting to wonder what they were whispering about.

"Do it. Reject me." Jinyoung spit out, making the crowd go silent as they waited for Jaebum's response.
