Mickey and Ian have been best friends since freshman year.
They knew about each other but didn't really know each other until Mickeys sister Mandy brought Ian home saying he was her boyfriend.

"Really, this guy?"Mickey asked when she first invited him over. "What? He's nice." She replied and slumped down on the couch next to Ian watching a movie.

Over the next couple weeks Mickey saw the two together practically joined at the hip but they didn't really act like they were dating they acted like they were best friends.
Later Mickey found out Ian was gay when he saw him making out with his boss at the kash and grab.
Ian made Mickey swear he wouldn't tell a soul about it but Mickey was pissed about it though. So he was glad that a few short weeks later Kash left Ian for some other guy actually his own age, but he'd never tell Ian that.

One day when Mandy and Ian were supposed to hang out Mandy had to bail because one of her friends was having an emergency. So that left Ian and Mickey alone for a few hours. They sat on the couch in awkward silence until Mickey spoke up
"Wanna watch some tv?"

"Sure" Ian replied

Mickey put on some old Tv mystery movie about a man who got murdered and the whole family were suspects. After about halfway into the movie Mickey and Ian abandoned it and were telling crazy stories about their  family's and realized they actually liked hanging around each other.

That was 4 years ago now there both Seniors cause Mickey got held back a year but they were still best friends along with Mandy.

Beep Beep Beep Beep...

Mickey heard his alarm go off but decided to hit snooze cause it was too early. He was almost back to sleep until  he heard his phone go off

Ring Ring Ring...

Mickey looked at the caller ID, Ian of course it was Ian.

"The fuck you want Gallagher" Mickey answered his phone.

"It's the first day of Senior year and you know we can't be late Mick" Ian replied.

"Jesus why can't I sleep a little longer?" Mickey grumbled into the phone.

"Cause school starts in 10 minutes lazy ass" Ian answered and hung up.

"Fuck." Mickey grabbed whatever smelled clean, brushed his teeth, and fixed his hair after that decided he looked decent and headed off to school.
