Lucy's POV

I can feel my heart stop.

I snap out of my trance. How unprofessional, I think. "Gray! I need to get this thing up in the air as high as possible at the last second!" I yell desperately. He gives me a confused look. "Do I need to explain everything," I mumble. Running for the rubber band I saw earlier I grab it just as I see a very out of breath Natsu slam the rooftop door open. "Anyone order a hot and spicy man?" he breathes out. I roll my eyes at his idiocy. I hear gunshots from behind him and yell at him to shut the door. "We don't need any more company!" I hold out the rubber band and tell Gray to get over here. He obeys with a very confused face. "Lucy, how are you going to get it far enough that the explosion won't hit us?" he asks. I  grab the band and stretch it to emphasize that we are going to launch it in the air as far as we can. "We just need it to go far enough that the worst the explosion can do is throw us back." 

"What are you guys talking about? I feel left out." Natsu says pouting. Pounding can be heard from the door as well as gunshots and yelling. "They're in here! Break it down!" We all turn to face the door and then each other and then the bomb.

"We don't have time! Natsu! grab the end! Gray! hold the other end," I say handing the opposite ends to each of them. "I will launch it."

Come on, come on.

"Lucy! What about the door!" Gray yells. "They'll break it down before we can even launch!" My hands begin to shake as they always do when I start to get desperate. "Shut up! Let me think!"

"You don't have time to think!" He yells again. "Shut Up Gray!" Natsu says, he then looks at me with concern in his eyes. "How many are there?!" I ask Natsu. He thinks for a moment before responding. "Maybe seven! I'm not sure it was kind of dark!"

I look to the door and then to the bomb in my hands.

Fuck it.

I drop the bomb and run to the door, whipping it open. Seven, I can handle seven. Five of them come rushing at me with knives and fists. I manage to dodge two knives and a fist but the others get a cut and a punch to the face. I slide my leg between two of them and push them from behind, knocking them on the ground before I step on their heads with my foot, crushing their skulls.  I feel a slice down my back and reach behind me grabbing an arm and pushing their elbow inside, breaking their arm. They scream and I take their knife slicing their throat. Three down. The other two hesitate as they look at their teammate's dead bodies. They're angry now.  When you are angry you start to lose logic and cunning in a fight. You lose yourself, and it makes you sloppy. I know that all too well. Their movements are frantic and they try to land a hit wherever they can, but it's no use. They are blind and I am focused. 

Their bodies fall to the ground. Lifeless. Just how they should be. Don't lose yourself, Lucy. I can feel my hands start to shake. This is not the time. "LUCY!" I hear Natsu scream. I whip my head up. He said there was seven, where are the other two? "Lucy! The bomb!" I run back to them and pick up the bomb.

"Where are the other ones?" I ask Natsu. He shrugs his shoulders. "I only saw five come after you," he says. "You said there were seven, if not more." Gray chuckles. "That's because he dropped out of elementary school and doesn't know how to count," he says and Natsu flips him off. "Now is not the time for jokes!" I scold them. Gray shrugs sheepishly. "Now get ready!" I motion for them to walk opposite of each other and pull as hard as they can. I set the bomb in the middle and watch the numbers count down as I stretch the rubber band as if pulling back a slingshot.

I can feel Natsu and Grey's eyes on me. Don't look at me!  I want to scream.
