CHAPTER 3: Falling

" Hey Tina I was wondering if we can hang out tonight, I have something that I have been longing to tell you for awhile now” said Peter on over the phone, he called me on my lunch break

“ Yeah sure where will I see you ?” I replied
“I will pick you up today after school, its a surprise “ he said
“okay, I hate surprises though” I groaned “and please don’t prank me” I add

“oh come on Tina I wont do that, you know me better by now and pranks are for kids, you know” he said , I think I am liking this man he is so nice to me and every time we hang out he show me this side of him which I like.

“okay I will be waiting for you then” I said with a smile playing on my lips and hang up
The day went fast and I keep thinking about his words “something that I have been longing to tell you for a while now” what is it maybe? I know I have done nothing wrong or is it about my best friend? What have she done this time around ? I know she lack manners but I don’t think she can say or do something to upset her boss.
I didn’t realize that time was gone until my phone buzzed in my back pack

“Hey where are you I am already here” Peter says on the phone
“Am coming which side are you?”I ask him
“ just pass by the main reception you will see my car parked here next to a red Audi at this parking lot here” he directed me

“okay am coming now” I said with a smile and hang up, I shove my phone back in the back pack and walk straight to the main reception,on my way I saw Max sitting on the benches with his head in hands facing downward, we have been friends with with Mark since year one but he started cutting himself out when Peter came in the picture but I still care for him though.

“Hey whats up Max what is going on with you?” I ask him so worried
“Oh hey I didn’t see you there, its nothing really, where you going ?” he ask with sad eyes, something is wrong really but I cant force him to speak if he doesn't want to
“just going to Peter we going to hang out” I replied in short he always avoid to talk when Peter’s name is in a sentence.

“Oh okay have fun then and take care Tina" I didn’t miss the eyes he gave me and there is caution in his voice but I don’t get the meaning, why does he behave strange sometimes?
“okay have a blessed night Max” I say while walk to Peter’s car and hop in.
“Hey” I greet him

“Hey , you look worried, and what were you doing you took long ?” he ask looking at me
“Nothing much was just talking to my friend Max” I replied “Can we just go my aunt will be worried if I happen to go home midnight you know” I say with a laugh, joking and he laugh along
“You know I can take the slaps she have for you instead” he smirk and start the car.

We drove in silence, and my curiosity grew high on what is he going to tell me, after a fifteen minute drive, he park the car I could not recognise where we are because it was getting dark but it looks like a park or some thing
“We are her” he speaks first before I could ask him “ its my favorite place, we use to come here with my mom when I was young and I grew fond of it” he say giving me his hand I take hold of it and he lead me to a big tree with a big trunk that spread out and we sat on it there are few lights illuminating here and there and its a beautiful view

“Beautiful view ?” he ask in a deep voice
“Yeah its breath taking, wow” that s all I could say it amaze me light in the park shine so beautifully and dim , not so bright but they look perfect and the green grass I love plants.
“ Just wait for me here am going to get something in the car” he says and turn to go where he parked his car.

I started walking around in the park admiring its beauty when Peter left,  does he like me  I thought to myself

No he just want to tell you something as a friend maybe he need advice on something or is on someone? Oh my God how am i suppose to do that, when i am liking him it should be something else maybe. He interrupt my thought when hr call me

“Hey Tina where are ?” he call out when he came back
“Over here ” I reply “Oh my are we having a picnic this late ?” I ask with a laughter he laugh along

“Well its the only time I get to be free and since am not a party person then I lather have a picnic on a Friday night with you” he explains
“ so you are not a party person ha ?” I ask in a mocking tone and smile at him
“ Its not like that I just prefer eating outside with you like this lather than going to a party, I don’t really like them I just go because my friends goes or host them” he says while laying the blanket on the grass near the tree

“ I didn’t know about that then” I admit mostly he attend parties just for the sake of his friends, wow that’s nice of him

“I think you nothing about me you must have heard a lot of things from people, especially from your best friend Alma but some might not be true people mostly judge me by my look but know nothing about me” he explains while sitting down

“Wow that’s a lot of information then” I tell him while sitting down also, he nod in agreement with what I said
“ shall we? I am starving to death I didn’t have lunch today I was so busy today, my mom prepared the food you know and she is such a cook” he say with a smile we start to eat our food in silence, food is awesome his mother is really a cook, I glance at Peter he look so perfect eating his food am I really admiring someone eating ? he is cute, tall with a light complexion white teeth and that sexy body of his oh my God how I wish he could just say he like me. I didn’t know I am staring at him until he clear his throat

“ I am sorry, but you know its rude to stare” he smile at me
“I cant help myself you are to cute …. what ? no I mean you are sexy … not that I mean uh oh my! I want to say … no I should stop talking already what am I even saying uh” he chuckles and start shaking his head I cover my face with my hands in embarrassment, what the hell is wrong with me have I gone mad ?

“ You too cute sometimes do you know that?” he ask with a smile,did he just call me cute again? Wow not so bad then
“So what is it that you wanted to tell me” I ask to reduce my embarrassment, he put his plate of food down and look me in the eyes, I swallowed hard his eyes have effect on me
“I like you Tina,” then he paused “I have liked you since the day you came at my work place I just didn’t find away to tell you this but I like you”
I blink a few times before I speak “you mean you like me, like ..”
“ Yeah like can you be my girlfriend?”
Wow this is a lot to take in but I like him already so is this my chance maybe?
“ please I can give you all the time you need to answer that but to be honest with you I like you and I usually try to find a way to be near you, you might not have realise it but ….” he was caught of guard by my lips on his I couldn’t help myself I have always wanted to do this to feel his lips on mine, they are so soft and so sweet just like I imagined, he started kissing me back it was so gentle and full of emotions that I can’t explain and promises I can't understand.
