CHAPTER 11: What are friends for?

After some disagreement with Max I finally gave up and come to his place, Esther was not pleased with me staying here, so they went to discuss it in their bedroom, now I am in my room looking at it, it is beautiful and I can see my self up all night singing and doing some funny dance, trying to finish my assignments on the last minute and that hit me, I have not been to school for almost two weeks and I need to catch up with my school work.

There was a knock on my door."yes come in" I say and the door open to Esther she look straight in my eyes and I look back in hers.

"So we finally meet ?" she ask crossing her arms on her chest.

"Yeah we finally meet" I say with sarcasm and sit on the bed with a smile.

"Look I don't know what Max sees in you that he think you are kind and all that , just so you know I don't want to cross ways with you in this place" she say in a serious tone, which I found amusing.

"Aaww so he think I am kind ?" I say with laughter I am really enjoying this.

"He is off limit bitch! don't you even dare!" She say poking my face, now she is the one crossing my ways here I stood up and push her away.

"Look here young lady I am not a threat to your relationship so please start minding your business here, I am a broken women, if you want to know my best friend slept with my boyfriend, I am heartbroken and I just got out of the hospital because I got in an accident and now I am kicked out of the house and last thing I want right now is to get involved with someone else and get my heart destroyed, more than it already is, he is my best friend and he is the only person who can help me now, so hold your horses and let me be and if anything here you should be talking to your boyfriend to keep it in his pants cause I don't want it either." I let out a breath I was beyond furious now, how can she think low of me? she does not even know me, how can she come here giving me orders?

She just stood there stunned with big eyes, just because I am short does not mean I can't defend myself, I turn to look at the door and find a sad Max, he gave me a sad weak smile.

"You have heard her Esther, stop provoking the poor girl let me take you back she need to rest, its been a long night for her" he come and take Esther by her hand leading her out

"You rest , I will be back soon " he point at me with a bright smile I know he have something on his mind.

I let out a deep breath and look for something comfortable to wear so I can take a nap, I take a quick shower and put on a loose T-shirt and a short, coming back to my bed room I lay flat on my stomach on the bed, I am a broken women for sure I started crying till I fell asleep.

I woke up to the TV sound in my the living room, which mean Max is back, I made my way to the kitchen cause I was very hungry , I have not eaten since last night.

"Oh hey you are awake ?" Max talk behind me which startle me I was not expecting him here.

"Yeah I am , oh you scare me, thought you are in the living room " I say slowing down my breath

"Sorry I didn't mean to, I bought pizza , I mean I realise you might be hungry , and we can watch a movie if you like ? " he ask shyly, I just smile to that

"Oh thanks God, I am starving like he'll, where is the food? " I ask passing by Max looking for any sign of a pizza box.

" Who is going to eat all this ? " he actually bought three pizzas, I look at him confused.
" I really do not know your favourite one, I was having hard time choosing so I just have to take them all, I mean we can always leave some for tomorrow " he say and I just smile and take a seat on the couch with a box on pizza in my hand and a mouth full of pizza, I was really hungry.

"Oh I almost forgot, here are your assignments that you missed and you really have to complete them early, they due soon , I got them from your friend Selma"he hand me a pile of papers.
I almost forgot that I am student .
Selma is my classmate I mean I wouldn't really consider her as a friend although we spent time together, we share nothing other than food and school work.

"Thank you Max, I mean how did you even knew her?" I was really confused by his generosity and caring , this are the friends to keep.

"Stop asking a lot of questions and just make sure you you finish them by next week, we are going to campus on Monday for school."he's say with a serious face and I understand him and he was right.

"Thank you Max, what will I ever do without you in my life? I say putting away my papers.

" What are friends for Tina ? I care about you and I can't let my friend alone in a situation like this ,you are a strong person and I know you can make it through this, but you can't be putting yourself down like this you need to finish you school I understand you are faced with a lot of problems and troubles but I am here to help you and remember  you owe that to your mom, you need to make her proud. Life will keep on testing you for as long as you live, Everything happens for a reason and one reason can be lessons, so now you have to let go of the pain and start afresh, you need that for yourself" he talked while I am just looking at him and every word he have said is true,

I let everything sink in and just come to realization that I am really wasting my time, holding onto someone who does not care at all. I have learnt my lessons and I will be careful not to trust anyone or to trust easyl anymore  and not to fall so hard.

"Can I give you a hug ?" I ask him and he looked a bit surprised but masked it of, but I hugged him before he can say a word.

" It's okay, everything will be alright, just dont give up on life" he whisper in my my ear as we where hugging,  I am very lucky to have such a friend, we stayed like that for almost five minutes.

"Okay time for a movie no more sad talks" he say when I let go of him and take his laptop and sit on the couch.

"A movie or a series? " I ask him with a smile 

"I don't know what do you prefer ? a movie or a series?"

"A series will be nice and it will last until we fall asleep maybe" I reply with a bright smile.

"Sure, what type ?" he ask

"It should certainly be more of action but with some romance for sure"

"Really now ?" he ask with a laughter while giving me that look.

" Dont look at me like that , I am heartbroken but that does not mean I don't believe in love personally " I say sitting comfortably next to him on the couch.

"Okay I surrender " he say between laughters while showing his hands in air, I joined him and laugh together.Its been a while without feeling this good and at peace.

"How about this one?"  he show me a folder written  "POWER"  

"Well have never watched it, but i hope it's good , so let's watch power" I say while baking my self comfortable.
The series  start playing and it was really nice and interesting, we watched about two seasons and both fell asleep on the couch.
