Colby: there's nothing to talk about
I turned around and went to walk away.
Brennen: what about your arms?
I stopped. I turned back around to see him looking at me with a raised eyebrow.
Colby: I don't know what you're talking about
Brennen: cut the crap Colby. You know exactly what I'm talking about.
I walked back closer to him.
Colby: no, I don't, so leave...
I lifted my arm while talking but I got interrupted by Brennen grabbing my arm and lifting the sleeves, revealing the bandages. He pulled them off and revealed my cut up and now bleeding arm. His eyes widened and I shook my arm from his grip, pulling the sleeves back over, covering them.
Brennen: you don't, huh?
I looked up at him.
Colby: why do you even care?
Brennen: this may be surprising Colby but I'm not heartless
Colby: you're right, that is surprising.
He rolled his eyes and looked at me.
Colby: what do you want from me?
Brennen: for you to stop
Colby: yeah no that's not happening
I turned to walk away from him again but he grabbed my arm to stop me from leaving. I turned to face him and winced in pain. His eyes filled with worry as he let go.
Brennen: sorry
There was an awkward silence for a couple minutes before I decided to speak again.
Colby: how am I supposed to believe you want to help me, when all you do is hurt me?
He looked at me as emotion actual spread across his face. Worry and regret. The crazy thing? It actually seemed genuine.
Brennen: look, Colby, I'm so sorry for everything I've done. I never knew how much you were hurt and what you were dealing with. If this is because of me then I'm so sorry for pushing you this far. If not, then I'm sorry for making whatever situation you're dealing with worse. I was an asshole towards you and if I could take back what I did, I would. Seeing you like this made me realise how wrong everything I did was. I'm so sorry. I know it's hard to trust and believe me but I do genuinely want to help you.
I felt my eyes start to tear up. Someone actually cares. I managed to stop myself and thought about everything Brennen said.
I don't know for certain if he is telling the truth about wanting to help me, but I should give him a chance... right?
