I woke up dazed. My sight disorientated and ringing in my ear. My focus finally adjusted and I saw that Brennen was standing right in front of me. Or should I say above me.
"How did I get on the ground?"
"Uhhhh, you- fell"
He said as he reached his hand out for me to grab. I took it and he pulled me up from the ground. I held my head as a sharp pain echoed throughout my head.
"Are you okay?"
"I'm fine"
"Let me walk you home"
"I'm good thanks"
I brushed past Brennen and started walking. As I did, I saw a black car, empty, on the road with a huge dent at the front.
Confused, I slowly took my hand off f my head and turned to face Brennen. He was staring at me.
"What?"
"Brennen, what the fuck happened?"
He walked over to me and sighed.
"You're not going to believe me."
"Just tell me"
"Well, I was looking for you when I saw the car speeding towards you. You looked out of it and I didn't want you getting hit so I stopped it."
"how?"
"With my hands? How else" he chuckled a little.
"But, that's- impossible.."
"If you're human"
A small grin crept over his face and shock consumed me.
"Wait, so you're really.."
"A vampire? Yep"
"Prove it"
Brennnen and I looked at each other for a few seconds before his eyes started turning red and piercing sharp teeth replaced his regular human teeth near the corner of his mouth.
He smiled and I could feel the blood fading from my body. I became weaker as my vision became darker.
The last things I heard were "Colby? Are you okay?" before feeling my body brush against the harsh pavement of LA.
