A group of social interactions,
which come together as one.
Our culture can define much of who we are.
What we desire and want.
What we find acceptable and unacceptable.
Even up to the tiniest detail,
It can affect more than we know.
When we go to another culture,
another society or place,
we may find it a peculiar place,
where people act in strange ways.
We may pass judgment on a culture,
see it as superior or inferior to ours,
but a culture does not come from a place.
It's a reflection of the people who lived there.
Every society's culture,
is a window to the past.
It comes from decisions made by their ancestors,
which are built upon in time.
It shows how they faced the challenges around them,
and how they saw the world.
And so as each ancestor passed,
tradition passed along to their descendants,
and every single one of us,
adds on to their culture.
As a culture grows,
behavior becomes more and more entrenched,
until it appears solid and unchanging.
It only seems affected by those with great influence,
such as famous people or those with power.
Through their actions they make a big impact,
which affects the people around them.
Through a chain reaction it vibrates through a culture,
even to those they have never met.
But is the influence of ordinary people,
often overlooked?
Through their actions they make an impact,
which affects their peers around them.
They carry their impact with them,
making it vibrate through a culture,
even to those they have never met.
No matter our sphere of influence,
we pour something into the world.
Together our actions make up the whole,
to build the culture of the world around us.
Humanity's culture is a never-ending cycle of violence,
and irresponsible decisions that cause mass devastation.
Now our actions rock the world itself.
One day they could destroy us all.
If the world is destroyed and humanity goes,
some might say, "it was inevitable.",
others might say, "it was their fault.",
and miss the power they had.
If we want to change the world,
everyone must take part.
We must realize the power we have,
and take responsibility for ourselves now.
To bring kindness to each other.
To love one another.
Every one of us,
can make a difference in our lives.
What we experience every day is the world.
What we do with it determines our destiny.
What world would you like to live in?
You have more power than you know.
Violence brings more violence.
Hatred brings more hatred.
Kindness brings more kindness.
Love brings more love.
Our environment isn't always ideal.
Some suffering is outside our control.
But if you give in to external forces,
you'll become a tool of that suffering.
Love doesn't exist,
until we make it exist.
See what happens when you bring,
loving kindness to another,
or assist others in what they need,
without seeking personal gain.
You may find the world a lighter place,
because that lightness comes through you.
We cannot rely,
on powerful forces to save us.
We must bear the weight of our own responsibility.
Powerful systems and people merely reflect ourselves,
for it is we who give them power.
After all, it is we who uphold their laws,
and we who give in to their worldview.
Their power is a belief we all share.
Do they deserve it or not?
When one person disagrees,
it is called dissent.
When many people disagree,
it is called revolution.
When an idea cannot be defended,
it is shoved down people's throats,
because they know the power of beliefs,
and will use fear to keep it alive.
Violence brings more violence.
Hatred brings more hatred.
If we act through violence and hatred,
we will create versions of the same reality.
We can take steps to defend ourselves,
but we do not add to the fire.
We do not fight to be right,
but for the benefit of all,
even for those we despise.
Kindness brings more kindness.
Love brings more love.
Love is an integral part of ourselves.
Few can resist it very long.
It is inclusive, not exclusive.
It is selfless, not possessive.
Its actions benefit us all.
With every trickle, love can grow.
For what greater appeal can there be,
than to create a heaven on earth?
When we work to elevate others,
everyone elevates with us.
Like a river our gifts flow out,
until they become an ocean for us all.
Paradise is always here,
it is we who must bring it to life.
So let us come together,
and create that world now.
For we are one culture,
and come together as one.
