Are you really my friend?
Because most days
You never approach me first
You never start the conversation
I try to blame this on anxiety
But even so
You could try
You do occasionally
When you benefit from it
When was the last time you messaged me?
Weeks ago
For what?
Homework
When was the last time we hung out?
Because I asked you
When have you ever asked me?
Never
Instead you plan these extravagant hang outs
In front of my face
Never once considering my feelings
Why?
Why keep me around?
Why act like my friend?
When it's clear we're only school buddies
You hang out with me so your not lonely
I hope one day
When you wonder why
Why am I never around anymore?
Remember you disregarded me
Remember you chose them
Remember I couldn't wait around forever for you
To finally decide you wanted me as a friend
I waited years
I waited too long
I enjoy my new friends now
They invite me out
We have hang outs
They message me outside of school
They enjoy my presence
They smile when they see me
They make me smile
So ask yourself
One last time
Are you my friend?
