The supreme walked about her son's new place as Max poured some coffee into a mug. Delia noticed various books on the coffee table with various post-it notes and pieces of notebook paper sticking out. Max entered and handed his mother the full cup. "For the supreme", he chuckled. Cordelia took the coffee, "Thanks. Are you sure about staying here?" He nodded, "Yes mom, I told you I can't lead evil things to the academy. The girls deserve to feel safe." Max took a seat on the couch, "This way I have peace of mind." Cordelia walked over to the table with the books. "This doesn't look like peace of mind." Max knew his mother was worrying. "Mom, I don't know what else to do. Before, knowledge was my power. It's my thing." Delia nodded. Even when her son was non-magical, he knew more than her girls at the academy.
"Alright, let's get to it." Max rose from the couch, "Ah, yes a protection spell." "Only me, you and Mel should be able to pass through. Nobody else can get in here." Max nodded, "Okay." "This will give me peace of mind." Max rubbed her shoulder, "Me too." Delia went outside the apartment. Max barely heard her spell which promptly created a purple forcefield around the place. Max could see the purple turn to transparent through the window. The supreme came back inside. "That should work." Max looked out the window, "We'll know for sure when a hell hound or something comes by." Delia didn't want to leave. She looked at him concerned. "I'll be fine mom. You should go. Gwen's probably wondering where you are." She smiled, "Probably wondering why she doesn't smell pancakes." She hugged him, "Be safe. Call me if things..." "Turn to hell?" Cordelia nodded, "Yeah."

Max's eyes were droopy. He was on the couch, a book about Greek mythology in his lap. Max's eyes finally closed. The door closed, making him jolt awake. Mel walked over to him. She saw his tired eyes, "Oh, sorry Karras." He rubbed his eyes, "Karras? What happened to Max?" Mel took a seat next to him, "Sorry, I've just heard it so many times out of my dad's mouth. Slipped out." "I recall it coming out of every Greek deity's mouth." She leaned in, "Here's my mouth." Mel kissed him passionately. Max kissed her back, caressing her cheek. A very loud growl comes from outside. The two stopped kissing and looked in the direction of the window. More growls joined in as the couple got up from the couch and looked out the window.
A huge herd of underworld creatures and beings were outside, only inches away from Delia's shield. Max saw a cyclops, Erinyes, minotaurs, Medusa and many others. "Oh, no." Max went over to the coffee table and picked up his phone. "Isn't there a spell?" Max nodded, "Yeah but who knows what they're gonna do." He put the phone up to his ear. A woman's voice came from outside, "Come out Karras!" Mel rolled her eyes, "Shut up Medusa!" Max talked into his phone, "Mom, there's an entire herd." Medusa continued, "If you don't come out here, the family sleeping next door gets it." Max hung up and started making his way out. Mel followed, "Max! Hold on!"
Max exited the apartment and looked at the vast group of angry monsters and creatures. They were out for blood, his blood. Medusa was right there but he didn't look at her, knowing what would happen. She spoke again, "The shield Karras. Take it down." Max shrugged, "The truth is, I don't know how. I didn't make this." This just made her angrier, "Well figure it out Karras. I'll give you twelve seconds." Max glanced at Mel then began shooting fire at all the monsters, only some were turned to ashes. When Max stopped shooting fire for a moment, he noticed a man in a hood suddenly appeared. "Get back!" The man put his hands up, then all the creatures flew backwards, hitting the ground. Max got closer to the creatures as Mel followed. They were no longer protected by the protection spell. The hooded figure began stabbing and slashing at the creatures with his spears. Max threw fire balls at the evil things.
"Let me try something", Mel said as the two continued to battle the creatures. Her eyes went blue. Ghosts came up out of the ground. She pointed at the creatures. The ghosts took ahold of each underworld being and one by one, pulled them below. All three caught their breath. "Thanks, Mel." "That should hold them a while." Max and Mel looked over at the hooded figure, "Who are you?"
