After retrieving Loki, we made our way back to the helicarrier. I keep glancing over at Loki, and I can't help but wonder why he willingly surrendered to us. He's supposed to be some grand god, and yet, he just gave up without a fight.
"I don't like it." Steve says, breaking the silence.
"What, Rock of Ages giving up so easily?" Stark says.
"This guy packs a wallop." Steve adds.
"Still, you're pretty spry for older fellow." Stark starts, "What's your thing? Pilates?" He asks. Steve looks at him, slightly confused.
"What?"
"It's like calisthenics. You might have missed a couple of things, you know, doing time as a Capsicle." Stark explains.
"Fury didn't tell us he was calling you in." Steve notes.
"Yeah, there's a lot of things Fury doesn't tell you." Stark replies. All of a sudden, a blinding flash of lightning comes from no where. I glance over at Loki, and he looks somewhat worried.
"What's the matter? Scared of a little lightning?" I asks him.
"I'm not overly fond of what follows." he replies. I look at Steve, confused and curious by what he meant by that. A few moments later, there was a thud on the jet, causing it to shake. Stark grabs his helmet while Steve grabs his shield. I watch as Stark opens the hatch and walks towards down the hatch.
"What are you doing?" Steve asks. Suddenly, a man wearing strange clothing similar to Loki's and wielding a hammer lands on the hatch. He walks towards Loki but stops when he sees me. He gave me a look of confusion but quickly shakes it off when Stark tries blast him. He sends it back at us, causing the three of us to hit the ground. I watch as the man jumps out with Loki and flys away.
"And now there's that guy," Stark notes. Steve helps me up and makes sure I'm okay.
"Do you know that guy? He stared at you awfully hard." Steve questions.
"I have no idea who that man is." I reply.
"Another Asgardian?" Romanoff asks us.
"That guy's a friendly?" Steve asks Stark.
"Doesn't matter. If he frees Loki or kills him, the Tesseract's lost." Stark states as he turns and walks to the end of the hatch.
"Stark, we need a plan of attack!" Steve yells at him.
"I have a plan," he turns to look at us, "attack." He flys out the jet and I sigh in frustration. Steve grabs a parachute and starts to put it on.
"Captain Rogers, what are you doing?" I ask him.
"I'm stopping them." he states as he puts on the parachute.
"I'd sit this one out, Cap." Romanoff advises.
"I don't see how I can." he retorts, buckling the clamp on the parachute buckle.
"These guys come from legend. They're basically gods." Romanoff adds.
"There's only one God, ma'am," he starts, "and I'm pretty sure he doesn't dress like that." He finishes as he grabs his shield. He starts walking towards the end of the hatch and jumps off. I walk over to where Natasha was and sit down.
"Looks like you have the hots for Cap." Romanoff said with a smirk.
"I do not..." I said blushing, "he's just a nice guy."
"Mmhm sure Stenson."
