I wrote Fearless when I was sixteen years ago, a lazy and inexperienced writer who had a warped vision of what love was in high school. Now... I'm a 21 year old, college educated woman with five more years of writing knowledge under my belt. I consider this book to be part of the Rewrite Series, because I'm taking my old work and rewriting them to be better, because I am a better writer than I was when I wrote those works. I'm very proud of the work I've put out on Wattpad in the year 2019 (this series and Tales from Greenwood Academy) because this year has been a healthier one for me. In 2018, I was dealing with serious mental health issues that led me to be uninspired and uncreative in my work. Every idea I worked on, I lost motivation to continue it. But I said I would finish this, because it deserves it. Mordecai and Cheyenne's story deserves to be told, along with Roscoe and Gianna's and especially Robin and Natalie's. They deserve the justice they needed when I was too experienced to write them.
I know people might like the original work better because there's more content and action, and that's fine. Everyone's entitled to their opinion, and I certainly don't regret what I wrote back then. I think that's a fine piece of work as well, for someone my age. But we can all strive to be better, and I just had to take out the unnecessary and politically incorrect scenes.
What a lot of people need to realize is that when I write from 1st person, I write from 1st person. Which means that if something isn't addressed, that's completely intentional. Some people might say that 'oh, you said you were going to write about Cheyenne's rape better, but you barely mention it'. Because it's not a thing that Cheyenne mentions a lot. I don't think any rape victim likes talking about their rape. But that event ingrains itself into her daily life, which explains why she had a panic attack at homecoming, why she gets depressed every so often, and why it took her and Mordecai so long to have sex. It haunts her daily.
I'm going to make a whole separate chapter titled 'About the Fearless Saga' that will explain the characters, their decisions, my decisions as a writer, and the inspiration behind the Saga. It'll be a long note, and it's completely optional to read, but I like doing that because I know some readers have questions about the deeper things that that note usually clears things up. It also helps me because I have a lot of things to get off of my chest. It will also contain some fun facts about the characters, both in book and out of the book.
In essence, I'd like to thank everyone who read this series. I know it's not the same, but it's a fresher note, so thank you SO much. I think I might take a little break from writing, or at least writing strictly romance for a while. I might write something comedic with LGBT vibes in it, something along the lines of what Colors of You was. We'll see. But in the meantime, there are other works on my page, including the original Fearless series, The Colors of You series, Tales from Greenwood Academy (I highly recommend), along with some poetry books.
Thank you all so much! As always, I love my readers.
Yours truly,
ArmiLouise, or B. Louise Jennings
