Chapter 7

Jai's POV

I woke to see a text from Ellie. I smiled before even reading it.

"What are you doing today? If you're free, do you want to meet up?:)xx"

My smile faded as I remember I couldn't.

"Sorry El, I have a signing at the mall today. xx"

Just as I was about to hit send, I remembered. She didn't know.

I deleted the message and tried again.

"Sorry El, I can't today I have plans xx"

I felt dirty but I don't want her to know as she may not like me anymore, because of my fame.

"It's fine. How about tomorrow?xx" She texted back.

"Sorry, busy again. xxx"

"Um ok, how about Saturday? Or Sunday? Or any time next week? I want to see you again.."

I felt so bad but I have signings until Wednesday, and then Thursday it's a day with the guys and Friday we're meeting with Ronnie. I would have invited her to a meet and greet but obviously I can't.

"Sorry Ellie I'm busy all week. I want to see you too. How about Saturday next week?xxx"

I felt awful.

"It's fine, don't worry about Saturday, I get it."

Well shit.

"No Ellie it's not like that, I really want to but I can't, I have stuff going on xx"

"It's fine Jai, I understand."

I'm such an asshole, I've made her feel as if she's not wanted. What do I do now?!

Ellie's POV

"I'm not wanted, I can tell. He's making up an excuse saying he's busy for 9 days straight. I mean I can understand having plans but, is he really that busy? He managed to hang out when he wanted to and then suddenly he's so busy? I don't know, am I just overreacting?" I complained to Sienna.

"I think you need to go to his house and talk to him, it's the only way to find out if he's lying. If he's not there then he's being honest."

"Good idea, thanks Si."

I got in my car and drove to Jai's house. I felt a bit obsessive but if we're going to have, well whatever we have, then he needs to be honest to me.

I pulled up to a large house and walked up to the door. I rang the doorbell and to my surprise, Jai answered. He looked a little different and I couldn't get my head around why but I could feel myself getting angry.

"Hi babe" he says no with a wink.

"Don't babe me, thought you had plans?" I snapped.

"Um, did I?" He spoke, slightly puzzled.

"Don't act stupid Jai. I know-"

"Woah babe, I'm not Jai" he cut me off casually.

"Stop playing games with me Jai, this isn't funny."

"I'm not joking, I'm Luke, his twin."

I stood there shocked, but then I remembered at the pool party, Jai was telling me about how he has a twin called Luke. I look at Luke again and realise a birth mark on his nose, something Jai doesn't have.

"Well then where's Jai?" I asked puzzled.

"He's at a signing, he went early to help set up and meet fans, I'm joining them in a bit."

I just stared at him, puzzled.

"Wait... Are you Ellie?" Luke froze, looking worried.

What is going on?

"Yeah." Was I could reply.

Luke's POV

Shit. That's Ellie. The girl Jai really likes, and Jai hasn't told her that he's famous, and I just said meet and greet. No wonder she's looking so puzzled, shit! Jai is going to kill me if he finds out! When he finds out...

"Well, I've got to go now!" I stuttered as I slammed the door. I'm dead. This girl means the world to Jai and I've blown everything.

Ellie's POV

Meet and greet? Fans? What was he on about? I was so confused, I needed to ask Sienna.

I drove home and walked through the door. I explained everything to Sienna and she was just as confused as I am.

"Well, Luke said signing and fans, so, maybe he's famous?" She questioned.

"Wouldn't he tell me?" I raised my voice, annoyed with Jai and how the suggestion made sense.

"Why don't we look on the Internet?" Sienna asked.

"Great thinking!"

I unlocked my phone, went on to Google and typed in Jai Brooks.

Loads of results came up so I decide to click on one, Wikipedia.

The Janoskians are a YouTube comedy group originally from Melbourne, Australia, who are now based in Los Angeles. Their videos mainly consisting of the five members doing pranks, performing gross-out humour on the unsuspecting public and each other, and filming mockumentaries, dares, and skits. The five members are Beau Brooks, Luke Brooks, Jai Brooks, James Yammouni and Daniel Sahyounie.

I couldn't believe what I was seeing. I went onto Google images. Yep, that's him. I then went onto his twitter, he had millions of followers and was verified.

His latest tweets were:

"Signing today, get excited :)"

"Love you guys so much!"

"I wish I could tell you but I don't want to ruin everything.."

I wonder if the last one is about me?

Too bad Jai, you've already ruined everything.

"You ok?" Sienna asks.

"Not really. I mean I'm happy for him, he clearly has a good life, but why would he keep this from me?"

"He clearly didn't want to hurt you El"

"But I wouldn't have been hurt! He only made it worse by keeping this from me!"

I was so angry, upset and puzzled. Why did Jai keep this from me?...
