Melissa's POV.

Traveling like a local was a whole different experience all together!

We were traveling economy class to keep things low-key. The business class tickets weren't available and on urgent basis we had to take what we got at first hand. So here we were, me in shorts and hoodie, Rogan in casuals as well.

This felt normal. It's better than those private jets and fancy dresses with bodyguards hanging around. Even though, Benzo tagged along.

Traveling like normal people in economy class was an adventure in itself!

We had to pass down a long cue of passengers to get the check-in done and get the boarding passes. I took a frappe from Starbucks in the airport meanwhile.

This felt like high school all over again. There was one time when we headed to Bali, Indonesia for a few days and we boarded the plane. Not our private jets. That time was fun. Trisha, Pete, Rogan, and the others including myself, we traveled and it was one hell of a trip.

We boarded the plane later and I didn't find anything out of the normal than our previous travels. Just that, there were more people and the flight attendants were attentive to all the passengers and not just us.

Meanwhile, Rogan seemed cramped up. He had pretty long legs now that I notice his discomfort. He kept on fidgeting with his legs.

"Something wrong?" I asked, trying to hold in my laugh. He frowned a bit and looked at me.

"The leg space is barely there. I don't know how I used to travel before, before I was blessed with all the luxury. " He grumbled like a child and tried to get a comfortable position.

I smiled at him. "This is nice. This is a change from our daily routine. We are so used to the comfort and the luxury that we do not know how it feels like to be below the food chain. "

"Well, I know how it feels." He looked at me intently. "I was not born into these luxuries, remember? And because of that, I appreciate everything that I have now."

Meanwhile, the air hostess did her routine in from of the aisle. As we passengers started to buckle our seatbelts, my inquisitive nature took its hold.

"Ro, I never knew what happened you know. I heard that you inherited from a long lost relative but never knew the whole story." He and his sister were orphaned at an young age, Rogan didn't even remember the faces of his parents.  "When we last met, you were with your sister. Would you like to share? "

He looked at me, eyes deep in thoughts or memories. "A lot had changed since we last saw each other, since you left."

The plane was taxiing to take off and I felt my heart dropping down the cliff at the mere mention of the past.

You weren't the only one suffering!  My subconscious scolded.

"I would understand if you do not want to share." I turned my face away, I just couldn't look into his eyes, they were so pained and I guess it was because of me.

After a long silence and a deep sigh from him, he spoke, "I'm sure you had your reasons then. And whatever it was, I know now it weighed you down to a level where you had to take drastic measures. " He took my hand in his and gave it a firm squeeze. "I understand, Melissa."

This man beside me who has only loved me ever since I  can remember and the man I had hurt so terribly is telling me he understands. What more could I ask for?

I picked up his hand clutched in mine and kissed his knuckles one by one. If only I was strong enough to fight my mother and fight the Evans, I would be in a different situation now, much much more happy probably.
