Chapter 22

LISA'S POV

After months of being on crutches and cast, I am finally free!! Yey!! I must thank Jennie for my fast recovery cause she's always there for me. She never missed a single session of my therapy. I could say that she's the most thoughtful and caring girlfriend ever.

And because I am perfectly fine now like what she wants be to be, I asked her to have dinner with me along with her parents. I never forgot to give respect to her parents. It's been long overdue.

I am here now in the steakhouse where I've booked a week before. This is the best stakehouse here in Korea so I have to book early for us to fit in.

I came in early cause I don't want them to wait for me. I don't want Jennie's parents to have bad impression for me. As the clock ticks, they arrived at exactly 7pm. I stood up to greet them.

"Good evening, Mr. and Mrs. Kim. I am Lalisa Manoban." I greet them with a bow.

"Good evening too, Lisa. It's nice to finally meet you." Jennie's mother greeted me with a warm smile.

"Good evening. Let's sit." Her Dad flatly said. I got intimidated immediately. But I am keeping my self cool.

"What about me? Aren't you going to greet me too?" Jennie said trying to lighten the mood.

"Ofcourse. Good evening, Love. You're so beautiful." I told her while smiling at her. I want to kiss her but restrained myself since we're in front of her parents and it's kind of inappropriate I guess?

"You don't look bad yourself." She answered and kissed my cheeks.

We settled on the table and ordered first before we start our conversation. I am sitting next to Jennie while I am in front of her father. Her Mom is across Jennie.

While waiting for our food, the questioning has already begun.

"So, I heard from Jennie that you met an accident months ago. I am glad that you are fine now. I guess it's a bad one?" Jennie's Mom asked.

"Yes, it's kind of bad. I only had minor head injury but I hurt my legs badly that I am in cast for almost 2 months. And then I went to therapy too for me to walk normally again. I have been cleared the other day." I explained to her. She just noded while listening to me.

"How did you met the accident, though?" Her Dad interogates.

"Honestly, Sir, it is a reckless action from me. I admit that I am under the influence of alcohol at that time and I took a u-turn without looking my way." I honestly said.

"It's really reckless of you to do that." He said a matter of fact.

"Dad!" Jennie said like a warning.

"It's okay. What your Dad said is true." I told her then turned to her Dad.

"I admit that, Sir. And I have learned in painful way. I will never ever drink and drive again." I told him and smile a little.

"It's good to hear that. At least our Jennie won't be worried anymore." He said and nod a bit.

Before I can utter a word, our order arrived. Jennie and I had same order. I cut my steak first and then gave my plate to her so that she won't have a hard time cutting it.
