Author's Note: A short and a bit boring chapter.

Maya was not very far. By the Krish caught up with them, Maya had just picked up Kedar. Kedar was overjoyed to see his favorite friend. He started jumping up and down on the road. Krish could not resist picking him up and giving him a big hug. Oh, how he had missed him!

For the next half-an-hour, Krish barely had any time to breathe. He was completely occupied by the little fellow. He got a very detailed description of how many monsters he had seen in the last month. His mouth worked non-stop as Maya and Krish took turns in carrying him.  Maya smiled sweetly at her son's antics and Krish wondered how long that smile would last when he told her about Dhruv.

All the digging around he did about Dhruv, made him feel more and more depressed. A ruthless businessman, he was also a heartless womanizer. He had no girlfriends and uses women like trash. His lifestyle was nothing that resembles Maya's. And then there was Kedar. What if a man like Dhruv arrives in his life. If Maya goes looking for him, and Dhruv sees Kedar, an arrogant and proud man like Dhruv would do anything in his power to take Kedar away from Maya. And even if he did take Maya with him, what position will she have in his life? Mistress, one-night stand.

The thought made Krish stop in his tracks. Maya did not deserve such a fate. Her love for Dhruv was a mistake, but she should not get punished for it. His mind was in a dilemma, should he or should he not tell her about Dhruv?

'How was your trip?' Maya asked.

Krish found it difficult to meet her eyes.

'It was good. Mumbai is a nice city, full of life!'

'The thought of cities make me ill. All that noise, traffic heat, suffocates me'

'You should plan a trip down to the cities sometimes. It is unhealthy to stay at one place for a long time.'

Maya smiled. The thought of leaving these hills made her upset. Besides, holidays cost money.

'So, when is your next trekking trip?'

Krish thought for some time before answering. He had started feeling guilty about not telling Maya.

'It's next month. The first trek after the inci...', he caught himself before finishing and cast a quick look at Maya.

Maya smiled understandingly and looked at Krish.

'Krish, please don't think you need to deal me kid gloves. I have put the incident behind me. When I look all around me, I see so many tragedies. So many people had lost their entire families. I at least have Kedar. '

And that was what kept Krish quiet. Kedar is what keeps her sane, she has left everything for him. Let Dhruv stay in her memories. He doesn't belong here anyways.
