Back in Time:

Dhruv had deliberately missed the dinner hall. He had his in his room, away from the crowd and a certain someone. This morning nothing told him that what he felt for the girl was anything different from his feelings for any beautiful girl. Ever since he had laid his eyes on her, he had just wanted to bed her. It was just lust, plain and simple.

But the fall changed all that. His heart was beating a very different tune today. The thought of her getting hurt, of her being sad, was giving rise to an anxiety that he never knew he had. So, he had decided to stay away from her. Just one night, then they will be one their way, hopefully he will never see her again. Instead of peace, the thought left a slow burn in his belly.

Night came early and soon the village was submerged in a cloud of silence. Some deer calls, and dog barks were the only things he could hear. He kept tossing and turning in his bed, the thought of Maya kept him awake.

Suddenly, he has had enough.

He send her a message.

'Come outside of you room. Meet me in the terrace. We need to talk'

He waited 5 mins but did not get a reply.

'If you don't come, I will come for you'

Still no reply. He got up and put on his warm clothes.

The corridor was empty and with his canvas shoes he barely made any sound on the floor. When he reached Maya's room, he was astounded to see the door open. Her room-mate was sound asleep, but there was no sign of Maya. He could make out the faint glow of her phone on the bed. Where did she go?

He quickly checked the ladies bathroom, but there was no one there. The lower gates must be locked by now, then were did she go?

Suddenly a thought struck him, and he climbed up the stairs slowly to reach the terrace. And there she was, staring out at the moon, covered in what seemed to be a blanket.

He slowly moved to stand behind her.

'What's wrong'

Maya did not seem surprised. Somehow she knew he would come. How can he sleep, when everything in her was crying out for him?

'You'

She moved around and stared him straight in the eyes. Her face was covered with fresh tears.

Dhruv hesitated for a second and then gathered her in his arms. He first kissed the tears and then settled on her mouth. Maya clung to him shamelessly, while he had his fill. Dhruv never felt more thirsty, neither did any girl taste so sweet. He could kiss her for ever. Slowly they moved to a concrete bench that was built against the wall. He settled the blanket all around them, and ran a possessive hand around her waist. The kiss was deeper and more intense this time. Both of them were determined to get as much they could before they parted.

Dhruv kissed her neck and rested his face on her breast, listening to the deafening beats of her heart. It calmed him, soothed him, made his feel treasured. They sat like that for some time, before passion took over again. This time Dhruv's kneaded her breasts through her nightdress, while he dropped small kisses on her mouth.

'What are you doing to me?' Maya asked in wonder.

Her wonder brought him back to reality. What was he doing?

Dhruv gently gathered her close in his arms. Maya came without any hesitation.

'I don't know Maya. I have no freaking clue'

His honest admission filled her with hope.

'Is this goodbye'

Dhruv took a long time to answer.

'No'

In that single word, he made a promise that Maya knew he would not break. She knew so little of him, but in her heart she understood that this man does not lie. If this is not goodbye, then they will meet again. That thought alone filled her with immense joy.

'I will come for you. no matter where you hide'.
