Blizzardclaw followed behind Brownwing. The white tom looked behind him seeing that Blizzardclaw was still there. Frostgaze and Yellowfoot both whispered to one another and kept glancing back.
They both stopped as they came upon a small clearing that was surrounded by woodland. Brownwing nodded to them and he sat some ways before them and curled his short tail around his paws.
Frostgaze stared pacing back and forth occasionally flicking her tail while Yellowfoot stared at Blizzardclaw with narrowed, concealed eyes. "Can we trust that you won't tell your leader or deputy about our situation??" Yellowfoot asked while slowly sitting down.
'She's asking me to go against my leader and deputy for their secret. This better be huge or else!' He gave a nod and moved closer to Yellowfoot.
"Well our Clans have been struggling with finding prey way before the drought of the river happened...I was one of the few cats to inform Briarstar." She mewed shakily as if she's been wanting to let another cat know besides the ones she trusted.
"And my father knew that they were struggling. He led an attack on their camp. I don't know what he was hoping to gain by it but it failed. Then we started having trouble finding prey on which we found out that the streams was running low. That's why we need to find out what's stopping it before there be unnecessary battles between the four Clans because there will be." Frostgaze mewed while her tail lashed behind her while her pelt bristled.
Brownwing padded over and gently whispered softly as he looked into her eyes. ' I wonder how long that's been going on??'
"So basically we need to get moving as fast as we can before anything bad happens??" Blizzardclaw said while arching his back. He saw Yellowfoot nod. "What's wrong with unnecessary battles??"
Yellowfoot recoiled like a adder who was stumbled on. "I'm just pulling your tail. Calm down." He mewed jokingly. "Brownwing, you three need to convince Gingerfoot and Thornheart to let us go in separate groups then. Or we can still go as one group."
The mentioned tom turned quickly and nodded absently and thoughtfully. Yellowfoot walked to the edge of the clearing. Her tail flickered and Blizzardclaw looked to see if she was calling for her friend and Brownwing but he saw them back whispering.
He padded over to her but she kept walking at a fast pace. 'I wonder what's up with her??'
The small clearing they were occupying was becoming smaller when he glanced back. The trees overhead blocked out the moonlight and he felt himself shiver at being in the dark.
He felt suffocated and started looking around as the night animals started coming out. His ears was perked ready for any unusual noise he didn't recognize. He fell into a rhythm behind Yellowfoot who hasn't stopped and was only focusing ahead. "How do you forest cats deal behind away from the open sky??" He mewed while stepping over a root.
She finally glanced back seeing him trip over the root. She let out a purr of amusement with a glint in her eyes. She stopped and turned around coming back to help him.
Once she was near him, she nudged her head underneath his stomach and propped him up. She backed away. "I'm used to it as you moor cats are used to being out in the open. I guess me being on the moor would have me as you are right now." She purred as she stared at him. "Besides this feels like home. I've never been away this long. I just wanted a stroll through as we head back to the other clearing."
"And this way is another way I suppose??" He mewed. Then he felt a pain in his side and swiveled his head to the left seeing thorns sticking out. He grumbled lowly and slowly started picking them out with his teeth.
