Blizzardclaw stood at the LeafClan border with Thunderheart and Lightningfur at the head of the patrol. Chase and Ace looked backed at them from across the river expectingly. Deadfoot and Mouseclaw gave them a nod before turning around. "Oh! Their new names are Cedarshade and Ashaw! I'm pretty sure you know who the mentor is." Thunderheart called over to them before flicking his tail and turning around.
Mouseclaw turned giving them a nod once again and then nudged Ashpaw forward who went back to Cedarshade and glancing nervously around. Deadfoot limped ahead of them and Mouseclaw brought up the rear end.
"Well let's go." Lightningfur mewed before heading after Thunderheart. Blizzardclaw followed after them. It's been three days since Cedarshade and Ashaw were brought to CloudClan's camp. The rain didn't stop falling till earlier today which was around dawn.
The three toms moved swiftly and silently as they passed through Grasshead Clearing. The meadow was dead with life except a few animals who haven't burrowed yet. Blizzardclaw's stomach growled lowly and he looked at Thunderheart who gave him a look of pity. "Sorry but if we do stop to hunt, it will go straight to the elder, queens and medicine cats. Prey is low during these moons."
"New-leaf will be here soon. Just hold out until then and pray to SpiritClan that we have no casualties." Lightningfur mewed serious for once, while stopping to glance at a crow perched on a rock some fox-lengths away. He started licking his lips before stalking towards it.
"Come back to camp when you catch it." Thunderheart called over his shoulder as he kept walking before breaking into a trot. Blizzardclaw followed behind him.
'I hope Moonfur doesn't actually go with her plan! There will be too many deaths happening and I don't want Otterkit, Dewkit or Acornkit to get hurt!'
The two toms came up a small hill and went down it before the wind changed pace. The cool, morning air chilled him surprisedly and he ruffled his pelt before shaking his head.
Thunderheart suddenly veered away and Blizzardclaw saw him head towards Dawnpool and her patrol. It consisted of Sunstorm and Eaglestripe. "I'll report to Lilystream and Stormstar." Sunstorm mewed seeing her head towards Thunderheart. The two had been mates for as long as Blizzardclaw could remember.
Sunstorm, Eaglestripe and Blizzardclaw padded into camp and Sunstorm immediately went straight to his leader and deputy.
Eaglestripe and Blizzardclaw looked at each other before going to their apprentices' who were outside their den pacing back and forth.
Blizzardclaw could immediately see Redpaw was agitated. "What's wrong with you??" He asked while glancing at Antpaw.
Applepaw emerged from the den and mewed a greeting to the older warriors. "Where's Whitepaw??"
"She went out with Blue and Rockpaw early this morning. They said they would be back around dusk." Antpaw answered Applepaw's question. "Redpaw wants to find her mother to ask some questions." The black tom turned to Blizzardclaw as he answered his question.
Blizzardclaw had a thoughtful look on his face as he padded over to his leader and deputy. Sunstorm had padded away and went to the nursery where Hazeleye was sitting at the entrance.
"Good morning to you." Both Stormstar and Lilystream spoke. Blizzardclaw flicked his tail to both before preparing himself to ask the question.
He looked at both of them before opening his mouth. "I was wondering...if I could help Redpaw find her mother."
Lilystream glanced at him before looking at Stormstar. "Why do she wants to see her?? The Clan comes first over anything."
"Be reasonable Stormstar. You wanted to find your mother when she left you and your brothers in that alley." Lilystream mewed with a twinkle in her eyes.
