Blizzardclaw pushed himself to his paws as he shook his head. It was the next morning and for once he found him up earlier than most of his Clanmates.
He looked around the den seeing the still-sleeping warriors of CloudClan. He found himself missing Brindlecloud's warm body next to his. He missed it more than ever now since leaf-fall was here.
He stepped over Gingerfoot and Lilystream who were a mess of tails and paws. The cold, chilly air made him want to head back inside the warriors den but he decided against it.
Once outside he looked at the camp feeling calm. He then walked over to the fresh-kill pile and nudged through the few pieces he saw. He sighed softly as he picked up a small field mouse and pad over to little wedge between the warriors den and High log.
He bit into it and instantly spit it out. "Well leaf-fall is here so of course the prey would be hard."
He looked up seeing Stormclaw padding up to him. 'I wonder where he's coming from!'
He stood up and nodded his greetings in which Stormclaw flickered his ears. "You're up early this morning." Blizzardclaw nodded before looking around the camp once again.
"So are you."
"I have to be up early so I can see who I want on patrols for the day. Besides as the next leader of CloudClan, it's my duty."
The white tom nodded slowly catching on. "It's a lot more to this deputy thing than what meets the eye huh??"
This time Stormclaw nodded before sighing and arching his back and then yawning widely. Both toms both looked towards the medicine den in which Blue and Rockpaw both padded out.
The blue-gray form of Blue made his way over to them with Rockpaw behind him. "Morning Stormclaw and Morning Blizzardclaw." He mewed.
Stormclaw flickered his tail while Blizzardclaw nodded his head. "Anything special happen when you three spoke to SpiritClan?? And where's Milo??"
Rockpaw pointed his tail end towards the medicine den. "She's still sleeping."
"And you know that we aren't allowed to say what we saw Stormclaw!" Blue mewed sternly.
The gray-pelted Stormclaw chuckled softly. "Okay oh wise medicine cat." He teased. "But you two must be going somewhere??"
Blue looked at Rockpaw who stared back at his mentor. "Yeah but we was waiting on Milo to wake but she spoke with SpiritClan the longest outta us three so she's tired. I guess we can start without her?? What do you think Rockpaw??"
"She'll most likely come find when she wakes anyway."
Stormclaw looked between the two of them confusion clearly on his face. "Well I'm assigning Blizzardclaw, his apprentice and Eaglestripe and his to escort you."
Blue nodded as if he approved then padded over to the elders den with Rockpaw behind him. Stormclaw gave a nod to Blizzardclaw then went over to Nightwing and Dawnpool who had came out of the warriors den.
Blizzardclaw padded over to the apprentice den poking his head in feeling the warmth. He saw Antpaw and Applepaw closely laying together while Redpaw was in a corner sleeping. Whitepaw was sprawled out in the middle of the den. He pushed his way inside and stepped over Whitepaw. He nudged Redpaw once. Then twice. Then a third time before her eyes opened. "No training today but we are going with Blue and Rockpaw. Tell Antpaw before leaving the den." He whispered.
She nodded before moving to get up. He turned around and stepped over Whitepaw again and padded back outside. Gingerfoot, Lightningfur and Hazeleye passed in front of him. Then Berryfoot. 'That's a first! The best hunters it seems!'
