>>>see le magnifique dress on side
I spun around once again in the mirror. I surveyed my girlish looking figure, and smiled a little to myself. I had on a very light layer of makeup, just a little bit of mascara and eyeliner, as well as some some chap stick - can't forget that! I wore an off the shoulder white dress that reached about mid-thigh, with a lacy pattern and flowy sleeves that made me feel like I was an angel. I paired the dress with sandy ankle boots that had a chunky heel and laces. They were one of the killer pairs of shoes Valerie had given me when I got my makeover. I left my hair down but in loose beach curls, and grabbed my new iPhone 6.
I heard the door creak, and swiveled around to see it open up a crack.
"You done?" Freddie questioned in his tenor voice. I responded by flinging the door open all the way and beaming at him. Freddie froze for a second, before coming up to me and whispering in my ear, "You look beautiful. I gotta protect you from all those guys, though."
"Hey, I can probably defend myself better than you could defend me, so don't worry."
"Yeah, yeah, whatever helps you sleep at night," Freddie whispered with a grin, running a hand through his hair. I grabbed his hand and put it around my waist, then pulled him in for a hug.
"You mean whatever helps you sleep at night, babe. But seriously don't worry about me. I'll be fine, I promise. Just have fun, okay?" I felt a slight smirk against the delicate skin of my neck, and Freddie let out a muffled 'mph' from the base of my neck.
I couldn't help but smile a little myself. I tilted up Freddie's head and kissed his cheek. He looked a little taken aback, but I didn't think much of it, as I was already pulling him along to the BMW, excited to be on my way to my first ever high school party.
We heard a thudding base as we approached a long driveway. We had driven for about fifteen minutes before reaching this mansion. The house would have been absolutely gorgeous, with three stories, a tree-lined driveway, a pool in the backyard, and a perfectly manicured garden, except for the fact that drunken teenagers were like the frosting on a cupcake -decorating everything. There wasn't a foot of spare room.
Freddie parked our car behind countless others, and we got out immediately, neither one of us being the kind of people to dawdle. I playfully linked my arm with Freddie's, and we started the long trek down the driveway. After wading through people like we were crossing the red sea, we finally reached an area of the mansion where there was actually breathing room.
My feet ached from my extraordinarily annoying heels, and Freddie had probably been stepped on by stilettos so many times he lost track. We exchanged a glance before bursting out laughing.
"Hey you two! I'm glad you could make it!" I noticed Freddie tense up at the sound of Justin's voice, and assumed it was from the kiss we had exchanged earlier. Man, he needed to get over it. He was more protective than an older brother! I mean, seriously, I could have handled him if I wanted to. So in my opinion Freddie just needed to back off.
"Do y'all want something to drink?" A very drunk Liam approached us, with two beers in his hands. I laughed and grabbed one, handing the other to Freddie. I saw Freddie shoot me a worried look, and I rolled my eyes at him and chugged half the bottle. This time it was Freddie's turn to roll his eyes, but I ignored him and grabbed Liam's wrist, pulling him to the dance floor.
We got caught in the middle of the flooded wooden platform, and I felt myself start to loosen up. I quickly downed the rest of my drink and grabbed Liam's wrist, helping him dance because he was obviously having trouble.
The crew soon joined us: Kyle, Shawn, Justin, and Freddie, and we all formed a small circle, dancing and laughing our heads off, though there was a little awkward tension between Justin and Freddie.
A slow song came on, and Kyle jokingly grabbed Justin, and they started dancing together, which was quite a sight. Then Freddie offered his hand to me, and I playfully accepted, allowing myself to be pulled into the warm comfort of my best friend.
I deeply inhaled the familiar scent of vanilla, the outdoors, and sweat, and couldn't help but smile at the only guy in the world who I was truly comfortable with. I suddenly felt Freddie's heart rate pick up, and I tilted my face upwards to look at his in confusion.
Freddie's face started to come closer and closer to mine, and I stared at him, waiting for him to whisper something in my ear or something.
Instead, Freddie's lips met mine, his soft ones gently caressing mine. I stood shocked for a moment, before regaining my senses and stepping back, pushing Freddie gently rearward, which caused him to stumble a bit.
"Freddie? Are you okay?" I asked in perplexity. Why would he kiss me? Unless... did he like me? But how, he was practically my brother?
"Sam, I, um, well, I really like you. I mean, I think I might be -" Freddie was cut off with a punch to his face.
I whipped around in alarm to see a very pissed-off looking Justin. My eyes widened as I saw him pull back his fist to hit Freddie again, but Freddie caught his fist and twisted his arm in a very painful-looking angle. I gasped, rooted frozen to the spot, as Freddie repeatedly hit Justin's face.
And I know what you're thinking. Why can't the professional killer fighter person do anything? But really, I was so shocked that a statue would have been more helpful.
I finally leaped into action, well sort of.
"Stop it!!! Both of you, knock it off!" I screeched as Justin suddenly flipped Freddie around and got the upper hand in the fistfight. They paid no attention to me, just continued beating each other black and blue. A crowd started to form, and finally I couldn't take it anymore.
I stepped between the two, but before I could shove them apart, a fist came flying at my jaw from my right. My hands, which were preoccupied on their chests, couldn't do anything to block the blow. My head snapped back on impact, and I had trouble maintaining my footing.
Without thinking, I threw a punch back at the guy to my right, and I heard him hit the ground with a thud. I suddenly realized that I just knocked either Freddie or Justin to the ground, and I turn to see who hit me, and was now on the floor. Freddie.
"I-I'm so so sorry Sam! I didn't mean to! My fist was already in motion, and I couldn't stop it in time-" I cut him off with a icy glare. I yanked Freddie in the air by his collar.
"It's Robin, remember moron?" I whisper in a deadly calm voice in his ear. That voice meant that I was majorly pissed off, and by the look of fear on Freddie's face, I was pretty sure he knew that too.
"What is your issue, Freddie? Seriously, you of all people? I can't believe you." I myself wasn't sure if I was talking about him hitting me or kissing me. Probably a mixture of both. I was just so angry that I was at a loss for words.
Usually when I got this upset, it was the calm before the storm, but I didn't really want to get all hot and bothered because of Freddie.
Right now, he wasn't even worth the effort. Instead, I turned and grabbed Justin's arm pretty gently given the circumstances, and pulled him to a secluded room of his mansion.
