"Miss Jinx, are you ready?" Slenderman asked.

"Ready," I said as my voice cracked.

"Are you sure? You know, I can hire someone else if you don't want to do this. I understand that you haven't gotten that much training."

"It's fine," I assured.

"Alright. Have you chosen someone to go with you, in case of an emergency?"

"Crap! I didn't even think about it! I'm sorry! I'll go find someone right n-"

"No need to worry, child. I can assign you with someone. I'll be back shortly. Stay here." And with that, he was gone. I was only alone for 5 minutes when the door opened back up. I looked over to see Slenderman and a boy with a face mask and orange tinted goggles.

"This is Toby," Slenderman spoke. "He is one of my proxies. He will be going with you on your first assignment." He turned to the boy. "Remember, you must not help her unless it is a dire emergency. Understand," he asked.

"Yes, sir," Toby said, his voice sounding slightly electronic.

Toby and I arrived at the house, and he looked at me. "Ready?" he asked.

"Ready."

I ran to the front of the house, checking to see if the door was unlocked. No luck. I shouldn't have expected this to be so easy. I headed to the back of the house, trying the back door. Still no luck. I looked around for any open windows. After searching the whole exterior of the house, I found that no windows were open.

Except one.

But how do I get in? Its such a small window. And it's too high for me to reach. "Can I get some help?" I asked Toby, who had been watching me from a distance.

"Sorry. Boss says that I can't help unless it's an emergency," he chuckled. I sighed with annoyance and frustration.

I looked around the house and finally found something I could step on. I dragged a trash can to the window and climes on top of it. I was able to finally climb into the window, but I didn't see what I wanted to.

There sat a family of four, eating dinner in their dining room. The parents and teenager screamed, while the baby started to cry from the noise. The teenager ran for the door, taking the baby with her. The mother ran for the phone and the father ran upstairs.

I decided to go for the mom first, who was most likely calling 911. I grabbed a knife from the kitchen counter, drilling it into her back. She screamed out in pain, dropping the phone. It fell to the floor, the screen instantly shattering.

I took the knife out of her back and stabbed her heart repeatedly. Next, I ran for the teenager and the baby. I took the baby and threw it into a nearby couch. I then grabbed the teenager by the neck. She screamed out in terror, begging for mercy. I grinned. For some reason, I loved when people begged to live. They knew that they were going to die, so... why try?

I threw the long-haired girl at the wall. The force caused a small dent in the wall where her head hit. She slowly slid to the ground, unconscious. I grabbed the key that was stuck in the front door, digging it into her neck. She was dead. I removed the key from her neck and ran my finger across the room. A scarlet liquid stained the tip of my finger. I licked it off. It tasted both sweet and sour. I liked it.

I heard footsteps, and down came the father, shotgun in hand. He shakily put his finger on the trigger, but dropped the gun after seeing what had happened. His daughter and wife were now both on the floor. Cold. Pale. Dead.

"K-Kill me," he shook. What? "Kill me, right now! Do it! I have no reason for living if they're not alive!" he shouted with anger.

"And what happens if I don't?" I asked with a twisted smile.

"Then I'll kill myself..."

"I dare you to," I laughed. And... he did. He picked up the shotgun and loaded it. He opened his mouth, placing the end of the shotgun at the roof of his mouth. Boom! He had done it. He fell to the floor, his lifeless body sprawled on the floor. I smiled. My work here is done.

Wait... the baby.

I walked over to the couch, leaning towards the baby, who was still crying. "I was abandoned at such a young age. Now, you will know my pain." I ran for the window, jumping out of it quietly. Toby noticed me and called for me.

"Jinx! I heard the shot! The police share on their way! We gotta go!" he stressed. I ran towards him, and we both quietly ran off, back to the woods.

I thought that I had done s pretty good job. Sure, I could have done it more stealthily, but besides that, nothing went wrong. I didn't need Toby's help. I didn't even get a scratch on me. I killed almost everyone in the house. But the baby, I left on purpose. The police would arrive and notice that the abandoned child was still alive. They would take it to an orphanage, and it would live there for at least another year. It would know what it's like to be alone. Abandoned. Betrayed.

It would know pain.
