The sun was on the horizon. They could barely see the baseball as the sky had almost turned to nightfall.

"Shit! We gotta go!" Mike shouted then ran to his bicycle which he haphazardly tossed onto the grass. His full name was Michael Diamond, but he went by Mike D or D.

"One more pitch, D!" Mel shouted as she stood at home plate.

Adam Yauch followed Mike and ran to his bicycle, as well.

Mel shouted out to him. "Yauch! Come on!"

He also ignored her and started peddling towards Mike.

Mel then turned to her last friend on the field, Adam Horovitz. Who was actually her best friend.

She squinted her eyes at him as he smirked back at her. He continually tossed the ball  up and caught it in his hand.

"Come on Ad." She begged.

"Sorry Mels. Gotta be home before that street light comes on." He said then ran towards his bicycle.

Mel grunted and slammed the bat down. She was the last to run towards her bike. She was a bit behind them as they peddled away.

"Wait up!" She shouted as she peddled her little heart out.

Ad looked over his shoulder and shouted. "Quit bitchin' like a little girlie!" He teased.

Mel pressed her lips together and peddled faster to try and catch up to him as he laughed.

"Bro, quit saying that shit to her." Yauch said to him as they peddled along side one another.

"She loves it."

Yauch shook his head. "I doubt that, dude."

"Don't fuckin' tell me how to talk to my friend. Shit."

"Latazzzz!" D shouted as he peddled into his driveway.

Just then Mel caught up to Ad and smacked his arm.

He laughed then she made a fist and punched his arm.

"Shit! That's not very lady-like."

Yauch shook his head.

She tried cutting him off, but he shoved her and she shoved back.

"Somebody is going to get hurt, shit."

They ignored him and kept up their antics as they always did.

All three of them hit the brakes as they arrived in front of their houses, which were on the same block.

"Is it safe to leave you two alone?"

"Go the fuck home bro. Love you." Adam said as he and Yauch executed their personal handshake.

"Goodnight, Melanie." Yauch said with a smile.

"Would you like to get punched?!"

Yauch laughed as he tossed his bike and ran up the porch steps.

Ad pulled on her ponytail just to tease her.

"You are such a shit!"

"Shhhhh." He said as he chuckled.

"Adam! Say goodnight to Melanie and clean up before supper!"

"Evening Mrs. Horovitz!"

"Good evening sweetheart. Would you like to have dinner with us?"

Melanie glanced over at her house and did not see her father's truck.

"Come on, Mels." Ad encouraged. "You can bring home leftovers for him.
