Melanie checked herself out in the mirror before heading downstairs. She was wearing a summer dress, hair down and converse sneakers. That is about all she could muster up for a girlie outfit.
"Mel, come on!" Ad called out to her from the foot of the stair case.
"Coming!" She cried then headed down stairs. Her tummy flipped when he looked at her in shock.
She stood before him and placed her arms on his shoulders. "Do you like it?"
He smirked and nodded.
She felt the butterflies in her tummy sensation as he leaned in.
Beep, beep, beep, beeeeep.
Mel's eyes opened and she flung her arm over towards the alarm clock.
After pressing snooze, she closed her eyes and tried to continue the dream. She could not get back there.
When she finally woke up and got dressed, she ran out the front door expecting to see her boys. To her surprise, it was only Yauch.
"I thought we'd walk today. What do you think?"
"Where is D?"
"He had to go in early for some shit." Yauch explained.
"Where is Ad?"
Yauch shook his head. "You are not gonna believe this. Some junior chick thought he was cute and offered him a ride."
Mel felt like her tummy dropped. "A Junior?"
Yauch nodded. "He is like a gigilo."
Mel rolled her eyes.
It wasn't until lunch that Ad resurfaced.
Melanie was at the cash register paying when Ad jumped beside her. "Melinnie."
She simply looked at him with no expression even though she felt butterflies in her belly now that he was near.
Ad looked confused then followed her. "What is it?"
She remained silent as she headed over to the table where Yauch and D were sitting with friends.
"Sup bro." D said as they engaged in their personal handshake. Yauch did the same.
Melanie ignored all of this as she crossed her arms and took a bite of her apple.
Ad smirked at them in response to her coldness.
"The misses is pissed, bro." D said.
Melanie turned and gave D a death glare. "Screw you, D."
D simply chuckled then returned to his conversation with his friends.
Adam straddled the bench facing her. "Quit being a girl and tell me what I did."
She pinched his arm.
"Shit, Mel! Come on!" He said then playfully shoved her arm, but it actually hurt. Melanie felt like crying, but held it in.
"You should not be so aggressive with females Mr. Horovitz."
"It is okay Miss Peebody, she isn't really a girl."
Melanie quickly spun herself around and stood up from the table.
Yauch watched this play out with a concerned look on his face.
"Mel, come on!" Ad called out to her. "Excuse me, Miss P." Ad said then jogged after his friend.
When he reached the hallway, he saw her head into the bathroom. He ran over to the door and knocked on it. "Mel, please come out." He said then waited. "Melanie, please?"
