"What's the verdict?" Yauch asked after a few minutes of light flickering between the two of them.

"It isn't there." He said sadly.

"Shit."

"I need to go over there."

Yauch jumped up. "Are you fucking crazy?!"

Ad ignored him as he slipped his sneakers back on.

"Bro, if her pops catches you, who knows what he'll do."

Ad looked him in the eye. "I don't care if I get caught. She needs me."

"Yes! She does. What she DOESN't need, is for you to completely be out of her life. Ad, come on man."

Ad knew his friend had a point, but was still trying to work something out.

"What are you scheming? I know you too well buddy."

Ad's eyes widened and he smirked. He reached into his back pocket and pulled out a small envelope. "Can you get this to her asap?"

Yauch seemed tentative. "I dunno man."

"Please, Yaucher."

He quickly gave in and took the envelope from him. "Are you going to do that light flickie thingy to tell her it's me."

Ad smiled and nodded.

Yauch climbed out of the window and down the side of the house using the vines. "Jack and the fucking bean stalk at 3 o'fuckin clock."

Ad watched as Yauch jogged over to the house and proceeded to climb up towards her window.

Mel opened her window as quietly as she could. "Yauch?

He let out a grunt and continued to climb. Once he reached her window, he rested his elbows on the ledge.

"Get in here crazy." She said then helped him slide at least halfway into the window.

"This is far enough." He whispered. "Your pops is on a rampage and I don't want to get you into more trouble."

"He won't even listen. Besides, if he knew what I had lost, he would be even more upset that I even had it to lose."

Yauch wasn't sure Ad wanted her to know he knew about the photo so he did not react to her comment.

"You didn't have to check on me."

"Are you kidding? It was all I could do to stop Ad from coming over here himself."

Her eyes widened. "He was going to come over here?"

Yauch nodded even though it hurt knowing she'd rather he was Ad.

She blushed. "I just told him I was fine. Besides he is on my dad's shit list."

"I reminded him of that so here we are."

She nodded.

"But I want you to know I am happy to be checking on you myself."

She felt herself blushing again. "Oh."

He's not the only one who cares about you, Mel."

She felt her heart beating faster as he appeared to lean in closer to her. Turns out he was handing her something.

"What's this?"

"Ad wanted you to have it."

Just then they heard footsteps in the hall.

"Go go go!" She whispered as loudly as she could.

Yauch's hands slipped and he began to slide down. He gripped the vines to slow down, but he continued slipping.

"Who were you talking to?" Her father asked sternly after opening the door.

Mel innocently leaned against the window shelf.

"Close that window right now."

Mel nodded then looked down to see if Yauch was okay. She saw him get up from the ground and scurry off.

"Get to bed."

"Yes, Sir." She whispered with a mocking undertone.

As she sat on her bed it was as if she had forgotten the envelope was in her hand. Once it was opened she reached in and grabbed what felt like photo paper.

"Oh my god." She said as she covered her mouth with her hand. "How?" She asked herself as she starred at the photo she had lost, which appeared to be in much better shape than the one she had lost.
