They both awkwardly stood in the dark. Mel reached for the doorknob and giggled it, but it was locked.

"What jerks!" she said resenting being locked in this closet against her will.

"I don't think they will open the door until the 7 minutes are up."

"What are we supposed to do until then?"

Adam stepped a little closer to her and said, "Well...we could...play the game."

"Quit joking around."

"I'm not." He said then gently placed some of her hair that had escaped the ponytail behind her ear.

"Not funny, Yauch."

"I'm not laughing." He said softly, then gently slid her hair tie out, letting her hair down.

His face was inches from her lips at this point. There was no place for her to go and to her surprise, she didn't want to go anywhere. She wasn't sure if a boy would ever kiss her. She was curious. Her thoughts were interrupted when his lips came in contact with hers.

She did feel a tingling sensation all over her body, which surprised her. He then began slowly opening his mouth a bit more and guided her lips with his. It was slow and gentle, which she appreciated.

An unexpected sigh escaped her lips and there was an immediate increase in the intensity of the kiss. He opened his mouth wider and kissed her with more pressure.

She made the noise again and realized he liked it. He cupped her face and she felt his mouth open wider. His tongue grazed hers and the kiss became deeper.

Suddenly, this almost blinding light was shining on them and they both pulled apart squinting at the brightness.

They heard whistles and cheers from the others standing by the door.

Mel quickly made her way out of the closet and began to push past people in the party. She needed to get to her bicycle as fast as she could. In the distance she could hear Yauch calling to her, but she couldn't stop.

"Mel!"

"You dawg!" Someone said patting him on the back.

"You can take me in the closet anytime Yauchie." one of the girls said.

He ignored these comments and just tried to push past them.

In his eagerness to escape, he locked eyes with Ad. The look of shock and confusion on his face hurt his heart. He would never intentionally hurt his friends ever.

"What was that?" Ad asked in utter shock.

Yauch put his hands up. "It was nothing rock. They locked us...it was a game."

Ad shoved him. "A game?"

Yauch said nothing.

"She's our friend. How could you?"

Yauch didn't want to say anything he would regret, so he simply walked past him and headed for the door.

Ad-Rock ran after him. "Don't walk away from me, Yauch!"

When he finally got outside he headed for his bicycle, but Ad shoved him from behind.

"Why are you so upset?!'"

Ad was taken aback by the question. "Excuse me?"

"I kept waiting for you to figure it out, bro!"

"Figure what out?!"

"How you feel about her."

"Feel?"

Yauch shook his head.

"She is my best friend. Mine! Do you hear me?!"

"I like her!" He shouted back unable to keep it inside anymore.

"Oh Christ." Mike said from the sidelines. He came out when he found out about the arguing. He knew one day this would happen; however, he thought he had a year or two left.

"That's fucked up!"

Yauch threw his hands up. "Why?! If you haven't noticed...she is a fuckin' cool girl."

Ad charged him, but Mike held him back. "Cool it, bro."

"I know how fuckin' cool she is asshole!"

"So you admit it. You like her." Yauch said.

Ad wiggled out of Mike's grasp. "No, I don't admit shit! She is my best friend...that's all."

Yauch nodded. "Then...she is fair game."

Ad walked up to him. "No." He said slowly and deliberately.

Yauch nodded then turned and grabbed his bike.

Ad and Mike watched him peddle down the street.

"I don't want to hear it, D." Ad said before he could chime in.

D threw his hands up. "I ain't sayin' shit."
