Chapter 1 - Giving answers

During their Math class, Takagi seem to have problem having to solve a question on their test. She knew that if she doesn't answer all the questions she'll fail. After meanwhile she still doesn't answer the question and the class is nearly to end. She notice Nishikata is a bit close to her and answers the questions correctly. She wanted to take a peek but that's way too hard for her since the teacher might see her but she's sitting at the back with her seatmate Nishikata is sitting right next to the window which is she's also right next to it. She secretly peek on his paper while he was answering though he accidentally covered his paper while then Takagi went back and got frustrated. She took her pencil and pretend that the pencil fall from her hand and as Nishikata looked at her and said:

What's wrong?

And as Takagi said:

M-My pencil fall over, c-can you pick it up for me?

Nishikata picks up the pencil while Takagi giraffingly looked at his test paper while he was busy picking it up.

Here you go, Takagi. Be careful next time okay? He said with a smile.

O-Okay, Thanks.. As she replied.

When Takagi was about to write she completely forgot the answers again and makes another contact to Nishikata but when she thought that having a second try will leave to the point that she's so suspicious. Rather she bothers him she move her chair a little bit to see the answers and as of that she didn't know she was way too close to him and kindly blushed. Having close to him like it matches that they more like mean't to each other.

Nishikata noticed how close she is and said:

Hey Takagi, Why is it that your chair is way too close to mine?

Then Takagi replied:

Huh? You're right! I didn't know. E-Excuse me then...

Then Takagi ask permission to the teacher to stand and move her chair away from Nishikata. Nishikata stares at her while she's looking so frustrated that she can't answer. The teacher announced that there will be few minutes left. Takagi was sweating much and gets nervous for she can't answer the remaining questions while Nishikata gave his a piece of paper full of correct answers. Takagi quickly answers the test as quickly as possible. After the test Takagi was relieved that she finished the test and all thanks to his seatmate who really concerns to her problems.

Thanks to you Nishikata kun, I was able to finish the test without leaving a blank on every questions.

It was no problem for me though.. After all before the test starts you're looked worried enough that you might not answer the test.. Even though you said you were prepared for the exams. Nishikata said to Takagi while she kindly react to that.

It's true though.. I spent half of a midnight to study maths. She replied while she obviously lying.

Really huh, I bet you stay up all night watching "100% Unrequited Love". Nishikata said as he grins on her.

Wha? How did you know that? She asked.

Hm? Well I just kinda guessed it since you keep reading that manga here at school. He answered.

But the fact that Takagi did studied before midnight but as she was about to sleep she completely forgot that the anime has two latest episodes and goes on watching it before she goes to bed. That explains her eyebags on her eyes which Nishikata gave a clue to guess why.

Next day at school

The test papers were given to them with the result. Takagi had an idea of beating Nishikata. Clearly she made a correct answer on the first question of the second test which clearly everyone had a diffcult to answer the that question including her. She saw Nishikata's paper which she knew about his answer from the first question on the second test is wrong.

Nishikata said:

I got two wrong answers today huh. How disappointing.

As Takagi said:

Really? W-Well I somehow passed.

The result test of Takagi is 35 out of 50 while Nishikata score 48 out of 50. The score between them is a little bit far. However Takagi heard from him that he has two wrong answers and that must been include the first question in the second test. Takagi surely excited to ask her.

But despite of Nishikata wanted to know the mistakes of Takagi he asked her first.

So.. you got fifteen wrong answers, what are those? He asked.

W-Well uhh let's see... By she was about to say, Nishikata said:

I assume you were wrong on the first question on the second test aren't you Takagi?

Takagi was surprised that he asked about that question. But technically above on the first test was all wrong and the items were one to fifteen. Takagi thought he said that because he failed to answer the first question on the second test.

Heh heh! That's not the first mistakes that I had in.. I got fifteen wrong answers straight on the first test. She said with confidently telling that she didn't messed up in the first question on the second test.

That first question answered by herself before Nishikata gave his paper to her.

Nishikata was surprised and said:

Woah! Impossible! How did you got the answer correctly?

Heh heh! Just so you know I studied before the test. Now you telling me I didn't. Takagi said with confidence

Well good for you.. He replied with a smile.

Takagi is curious about the two wrong answers of Nishikata so she asked him:

How about you? Since you said that you have two wrong answers I clearly have no doubt that you'll have mistakes because you're no perfect. But I assume the first and second mistakes is the first question on the second test and the first test question one. She said as confidently beating him.

Then Nishikata said:

Well you got the first mistakes.. but clearly the teacher wrote the score wrong.

Takagi confusedly thought what he was saying but for some reason Nishikata has only one mistakes and that was only first question.

Okay... so you're only mistake is the question one on the second test. Right? Takagi asked to Nishikata.

No. I got the answer right on the question one on the second test. Nishikata said.

R-Really? Takagi said as she reacted unbelieveably that Nishikata got the answer right on that question.

Why? Did you possibly thought that I got it wrong because it's difficult? Nishikata predictly said about Takagi's thoughts.

Y-You... got me huh.. well I'd thought so. Said Takagi.

Suddenly the teacher wanted to announce something and said:

To all who answered the first question on the first test is a bonus.

Nishikata said:

Well... well a perfect score huh.

Meanwhile Takagi:

B-Bonus.. score, means that I got the first question correct since there are no possible answers.

Seems like you're now 36 out of 50 huh. Said Nishikata to Takagi.

Y-Yeah...

"Geez! I wish one day I'll beat you to it Nishikata kun!"
