Tammy ran to the kitchen and leaned over the sink to try and slow down her breathing. No...No..No she chanted over and over in her head. John always find a way to turn her world upside down. First it was his demanding career, the affairs and now this. Just when her life was finally getting some peace here he was again trying to mess it up.
"Whats wrong Tammy" Mrs. Walker said standing next to her rubbing her hand in her back. Tammy stood up straight and tried to calm down quick as possible. She haven't had a panick attack in years since her divorce. Not only was it very uncomfortable but completely embarrassment. They started right after the first affair became public. Being wife of the Governor of New York and having to find out your husband is having an affair through the media is enough to drive anyone crazy. The amount of imbarresment Tammy had to indure was unbelievable, not being able to so much as go to the grocery store without having people give you the pity looks and the whispers once they think you are out of ear shot. Now she had made a modest life for herself in a quiet little town in Georgia away from all the foolishness. And here he is.
"Oh nothing Im find" Tammy said with a smile that didnt quit reach her eyes. Tammy stood straight and brushed some non existing dust off her apron. Praying that John had for once done the decnt thing and left. Looking at Mrs. Walkers face she could tell she didn't believe a word Tammy was saying.
"So that man out their is princess father I asume?"
Tammy head popped up in suprise wondering how she could have known. Tammy had told Mrs. walker about her marrage and the things she went through. Just needing someone to talk to and knowing that Mrs. Walker would never judge. It was nice to have someone you could just open up to that didnt know the situation, considering Mrs. Walker never heard about the story all the way down here in Georgia. I guess she could look on Tammy's face and tell that she was suprised she knew who John was right off.
"Princess looks just like him Tammy. He might as well spit her out himself" Mrs. Walker said answering the unasked question. Even Tammy had to admit that as Mya got older her features tend to look more and more like her father's. those deep dimples were an exact replica of his. It reminded her everyday that that was one of the reasons she was so attracted to John in the beginning. And let's not get started on them grey eyes.
"Yes that's her father" Tammy answered looking round the kitchen trying to find something to do with her bought of nervous energy. She settled on finishing up cutting the cookies out in little star shapes on the sheet pan.
"Hmmmm" Mrs. Walker looked through the kitchen window out into the dinning area. Sure enough John still set there nursing a now proberly less then warm cup of coffee.
"I'm gone make a new pot of coffee out front" Mrs. Walker said with a determined looked heading straight through the kitchen swinging door. After grabbing the coffee pot from under the counter Mrs. Walker walked around into the sitting area headed straight to Johns table.
"More coffee?" She asked in a sharp voice looking down at John's half empty cup.
"Yes mam if you don't mind" John said in a deep voice. Mrs. Walker arched an eyebrow and begin to pour the coffee.
"So are here alone, or just waiting on someone?" Mrs.walker asked already knowing the answer
"Well actually I came here to speak to ex-wife, but it didn't really work out too well" John said lowering his head looking down into the now full cup of coffee.
'Men!' Mrs. Walker thought to herself shaking her head. And to think he actually has the nerve to look defeated. "Well maybe she doesn't want to speak to you considering all you've put her threw. Have you thought of that" she asked shifting her weight to one leg with a hand on her hip. John head immediately popped after realizing that this was just no casual conversation.
