Changing his mind

As the door closes behind us I am met with the same baby blue eyes I saw only minutes ago. I can see the look in his eyes but I can't tell what it means so I decide to brush it off, not really caring what he was thinking. He turns his attention to the men in the room and extends a hand to Cody. "Hey, Cody. What brings you by man?" He says with a hint of amusement in his voice as he pulls Kenny into one of those weird bro hug things.

"There's someone I want you to meet. This is Lilith, she actually chose you to model her character after. We have her written as a heel right now so I was thinking that she could get some tips from the one and only." I can see Jon roll his eyes as he shrugs off his jacket. It's not that I regret my decision to have Mox be the influence for my persona but I am definitely not seeing an upside to it right now.

He reaches down and grabs a roll of black tape out of his bag to start wrapping his hands. Turning toward the guys, he totally ignores my presence. "Yeah, I know who she is. We had a little run-in outside this morning. Let's just say I'm not impressed." He stops talking long enough to turn and finally acknowledge me before turning his back to me. "I won't show her shit until I think she has proved that she can make it in this business, and isn't just trying to get her 15 seconds of fame." To say I was shocked by his words would be an understatement. I guess I'm going to have to work a whole hell of a lot harder to prove my self here.

I turn on my heel and make my way out of the room. I need to go blow off some steam before I talk to anyone again so I head to the ring to go run the ropes. When I get to the ramp I see Brandi in the ring and I guess she sees me too because she turns and waves me down towards her. "Lilith, come here for a second I want to talk to you." I nod my head and jump up onto the apron. "So I know that Jon can be a little intense sometimes but you just have to let his words roll off you back and let them make you stronger. I see something in you that I don't think I have seen since Cody was still in Wwe with Dusty. " Hearing her say that I remind her of one of the best of all-time shocks me but I try not to let it show.

"You can call me Ashley, and thank you for that but I have a long way to go before I even reach the same mountain Cody is on." I give her a small smile and start to look around the arena. I guess she can sense my awe because she speaks up.

"It's not as scary as it seems. Once you step out onto the ramp for the first time the world just seems to fade away and you get lost in the moment. There is no other feeling like it." Noticing that I wasn't going to answer, she steps out of the ring and walks backstage.

I stand staring at nothing and everything for a few moments before I hear someone clear their throat from behind me. "You don't belong in there not yet anyway. You have a long way to go before I start to help you. Just know that we're getting thrown into a storyline and it will get complicated come All Out." Jon focuses his intense gaze on me as he makes his way closer.

"I know but it's not like I'm debuting with two other people so if I fuck up it's noticeable. You had Joe and Colby to cover your ass." I think I struck a nerve because I see the anger flare up in his eyes at my words.

"YOU DONT KNOW SHIT! You don't get to talk about my brothers! Keep their names out of your mouth because if I hear it again you won't make it to All Out." He turns on his heel and walks away before I have a chance to reply.

I sigh and step through to ropes before heading to my car. I drag my keys from me before stepping inside. I guess there goes my plan for having him help me.

On the way to the hotel, I can't get his words out of my mind.... we're in a storyline together.
