Jon's pov

What the hell just happened. I groan as I make way back to my feet and the ref hands me my title, raising my hand. My music hits as the announcer says my name. I have to give it to Chris, he put up one hell of a fight, but we both knew he would lose.

I start to step through the ropes when an idea crosses my mind. I snatch the mic from the announcer. "Alright D.C. listen up. The last thing that I want to experience after a grueling match is to be laid flat on my back by someone with no experience under their belt. So this is what's gonna happen." I don't know why I decided to do this but I think it'll help us both in the long run.

"Lilly, you're going to come back to this ring and come at me face to face. You don't get to hit me from behind. If you want a fight then I'll gladly give one, but unlike you, I don't blindside people." I have a sinking feeling that Cody is going to have my ass for this but I don't care.

The crowd is going insane as I bring the mic down and 'One Woman Army' blasts through the arena. I can tell Ashlee is freaked out by the fact that she has to wing it, but let's face it if she hadn't planted me in the center of the ring I wouldn't be doing this.

She has a mic already in hand as she makes her way to the ring. "Alright, let's get one thing straight. My name is Lilith Harlow, but since you so graciously allowed me to demonstrate my Hell's Gambit, you can call me Lilith." Holy shit.

I didn't expect her the be that good at a promo on the fly like that. And I damn sure didn't expect her to giggle. Honestly, it's kinda hot. Let's see how much of a curve can I throw her for. "Okay, Lilith. if you can give me one good reason you attacked me, then maybe I'll let you walk out of this ring unscathed." I have a feeling that no matter what she says, this has to do with last night.

"I don't have to tell you shit." I hear the crowd erupt in a mixture of laughter and cheers. I don't know why but I feel myself start to laugh. The fact that she is absolutely killing this promo is insane to me. I take a step toward her in hopes of adding effect, but this didn't faze her.

"Do you have any idea who you're talking to, Lilith? I suggest you not pick a fight that you can't win." I can almost see the wheels in her head turning. Slowly she eyes me up and down before making her dark blue almost silver eyes lock with mine. Let's just say that what she fired off with was not what I was expecting.

"Okay you want to talk about me coming at you from behind? What you forgot to mention, was the fact that it was you who beat the shit out of Jake Hagar when he least expected it. Even if I know the circumstances, I have a feeling you know the reason behind what I did out here earlier." The smirk on her face is one like I've never seen and it's driving me crazy. The way her lip slightly curls at the top and the dark blood red colo- shit what am I doing?

Before I have a chance to reply she drops her mic and steps back through the ropes. I hear her music hit as she walks up the ramp swaying her hips the whole way. I roll my eyes and start to make my way backstage. I think I need to have a little talk with Ash. I don't think she fully understands that mixing off camera and in ring is never good. Soon enough I find my way to the locker room in hopes of finding Cody, or Kenny for that matter.

Coming up short in the locker rooms I head to catering. Stepping around the corner I see Chris at one of the tables they have set up on the far side of the room. Making my way over to him I make it a point to grab a bottle of water.

I see Chris look up as I take a seat across from him. "Hell of a match tonight brother, although I didn't think you needed help from Ashlee to pick up the win." I can't help but laugh, seeing as he was in the room when we were deciding the match. "But then again I didn't think she would lay you flat on your ass either." Now his turn to laugh.

"Your an ass Chris you know that?" He yet again laughs and nods his head. "Speaking of Ashlee, I was wondering if you had seen her around since you had been back stage?" He thinks for a second before he shakes his head and replies. "No don't think I've seen her since you called her back to the ring. Good choice by the way, calling her back. I think that made her want to think twice about breaking script." I nod my head before standing.

"Alright thanks man. If you see her before I do tell her to come find me." Without waiting for him to answer I turn and walk away still in search for the girl of the hour. After about five minutes of aimlessly walking the halls I decide to try somewhere I would go hang out after shows when I was in WWE, the stairwell, or the equipment storage. I try the storage first and with no luck yet again I decide that if she's not in the stairs then I'll just text her about it later.

Opening the door to the stairwell furthest from the noise of the arena crowd, I find her with her head buried in her hands slumped against the wall. Deciding not to talk, I take a seat next to her and relive the events of what went down tonight.

"I'm sorry." I hear her soft timid voice say. I think this is the most unsure of herself that I have ever heard her. Even when I confronted her that day she needed a lighter. This whole time I thought she was just a stuck up girl that thought she was better than everyone but sitting here now, I can see that she just wanted to make a name for her self.

"I don't know what I was thinking tonight Jon I'm so sorry." I hear her voice start to crack as she continues. "I guess I just got caught up in the effects of last night and honestly everything that has happened since I met you." She pauses trying to calm down but she doesn't do it quick enough. Out of the corner of my eye I can see a tear roll down her cheek. Instinctively I reach out for her hand trying to give her what little comfort I can.

"I shouldn't have brought up the whole situation with Jake seeing as you were protecting me. You don't have to believe me but I am sorry." I see her raise her head to look up at me waiting for me to say something, but honestly I don't know what to say. Finally turning to look at her I decide in that moment that I don't care what happened with Renee. I want this and I know she does too.

Meeting her eyes I start to lean toward her. Just as I'm about to kiss her, the door to the stairwell opens, causing her and I to jump apart. She pulls her hand from under mine and stands as quick as humanly possible. "Ash wai-" by the time I had stood up and was calling after her she was already gone.

I look at the person or should I say people who walked in on us and believe me when I say this, they are the last people I ever want to see.
