'Soulmates'

Just the word alone made Eddie sick. Everyone was praising this stupid soulmate thing, while Eddie hated it.

How to know if you were soulmates? Easy, you would get a colored streak in your hair when you turned 16. If someone had the same color, it meant that that person was your soulmate. And for the people with no hair there would be a little heart in their designated color just above the ear.

As Eddie walked through the doors on the first day of school and saw the banner hanging from the ceiling with the word 'soulmates' written on it, Eddie wanted to vomit. "Stupid soulmates.." Eddie muttered to himself.

You might be wondering why Eddie hates this thing so much, well...it is because it's almost his 17th birthday and he still doesn't have a streak in his hair. He could be a late bloomer but Eddie still got bullied for having nog streak at the moment.

"Hey lone wolf!" a girl with long brown braids with a pastel yellow streak in it yelled at him, "sad that you're never going to have one?" she said while laughing and pointing up at the banner.

Eddie clenched his fists and turned away from her, stomping to his locker. There was his best friend Bill waiting for him. "H-hey Eddie.." Bill said slowly. Eddie nodded at him and opened his locker agressively, taking out the books that he needed for the next few periods.

Bill didn't know how to respond so he just didn't say anything. Eddie slammed his locker shut and sighed as he leaned against it. Just when Bill was about to say something to him he felt an arm snaking around his waist and a kiss being pressed against his cheek. "Hey soulmate." his boyfriend, Stan, cheesily smiled at him.

Bill blushed and tucked Stan's dark red curl behind his ear before giving him a soft peck on the lips. "Uurgh! Just fuck off already with your love stuff!" Eddie yelled making both boys jump up a bit. "Eddie I-" Stan started but before he could say anything more than that, Eddie was already stomping off again.

"I m-miss seeing E-eddie happy.." Bill said to his boyfriend, who answered with a "Yeah...me too." They started walking to class, Stan's arm still tight around his boyfriend's waist, when they came across the principal's office and saw three people standing there. A man, a woman and a boy. He looked around the same age as Bill and Stan but he was incredibly tall and slender.
"D-do you th-think he's n-new?" Bill asked quietly, while both boys were watching the unfamiliar kid. "I don't know..maybe." Stan shrugged and continued walking to class. Bill followed and soon they were seated in the back of the classroom.

Stan had his elbow propped up on his desk, with his chin leaning on his hand. He was twirling the dark red lock in his boyfriend's hair around his finger and he sighed "Your color is barely visible in your dark hair." A light chuckle came from the other boy.

But it was true, in Stan's light brown hair, or honey gold curls as Bill liked to call it, the dark red curl was very obvious. But in the dark auburn hair from his lover, the dark red was barely visible, so he sometimes also gets called 'lone wolf' which hurts Stan. His boyfriend always claps back with something along the lines of "A-are you fffucking blind?" while pointing at his hair.

Stan laughed at his thoughts and stopped twirling the lock around his finger, damn he was in love with this boy. Luckily he got to call him his soulmate, which made him smile from ear to ear. Just as he was about to peck the boys cheek, the teacher walked through the door.

He was pushing the kid from te principal's office in front of him and closed the door after they both were inside of the classroom. Then the teacher, mr. Moore, silenced the class and started introducing the new kid. "Class, this is Richard. Richard please tell us a little about yourself." his voice rang through the room.

The tall boy, now known as Richard, cleared his throath a little and started introducing himself. "Well..I'm Richard, but everyone calls me Richie. I'm 18 years old, I don't really have a hobby, and my mom and dad decided to move from California to here so yeah...Can I go sit down now?" he silently asks the teacher, who answers with "Yes, that's good enough. Class please be nice to him." he smiled at Richie and guided him towards a chair, "You can go sit next to Stanley." mr. Moore said before finally starting his history lesson.

The boy walks to the back of the class and sits down in the empty seat next to Stan. He let out a quick 'hi' to the boy and then started going through his backpack in search of an unused sheet of paper because he doesn't have his books yet. When he finally finds one he starts looking for something to write with but quickly gives up. He turns to the curly headed boy next to him and quietly asks if he can borrow a pencil.

Stan smiles at him and says "ofcourse!" while handing him the cutest pencil Richie had ever seen, it was a very light pink with all sorts of constellations, stars and clouds on. Richie felt jittery on the inside and this, in his eyes, was now a conversation starter.

"Soo..you like astrological shit?" he whispers to the boy the pencil belongs to. "No, not really. I'm into birds and stuff. I-i got the pencil from my boyfriend, he..he thought it looked cute." Stan answered while a blush started to appear on his face while talking about his lover. "Awh, that's so sweet. So this boyfriend of yours...is he hot?" The black haired boy asked with a smirk.

"Why don't you look for yourself." the other one answers while nudging Bill. Richie smiled at the two of them. "Dark red, huh?" he said pointing at both their hair. "He isn't that bad looking, if I say so myself." Richie said with a smirk. Stan catched his bottom lip between his teeth while Bill faked being offended, "N-not that buh-bad? E-excuse me?" he said in a high pitched voice that made the three giggle.

Stan started looking at the tall boy's hair, searching for a streak. He quickly noticed the baby pink streak in the almost black locks of the boy and nudged him in the side, "Found your soulmate?" Stan asked while pointing at the boys hair. "Nope, never ran into someone with the same color.." he sounded a bit dissapointed when he said this.

"Hey i-i-it could be w-w-wuh-worse, our friend Eddie is t-turning 17 this year and he ssstill doesn't huh-have a st- a streak." Bill said. Stan gently slapped the boy on the arm and said "maybe he's a late bloomer, you don't know that yet." suddenly the teacher called out to the three that if they weren't going to shut up that they could spend their first day of school in detention, so the boys quickly shut up.

A few periods had passed and the three boys walked side by side down the hallway, going to their next class. Stan invited Richie over to come sit with them at lunch ",that way you can meet all the other Losers, well except Mike because he's homesch-" Stan rambled to the new kid, who quickly put a pause on Stan "wait wait, you guys call yourself The Losers? Why?" The boy asked them, confusion spread on to his face. "Don't know," Stan shrugged, "that way we beated the bullies to call us that, I guess." he silently said to the lanky one. "T-t-they still c-call us o-other things t-though.." Bill sounded like he was about to cry when he said that and Richie got concerned again.

"You guys get bullied? By who? What do they call you? For how long have you guys been bullied?" the questions kept flowing from Richie's mouth, but the two dark red's couldn't keep up with him and Stan was the first to jump in, "We will explain everything you want to know, but please Richie, one question at a time." The boy said. "B-but only i-i-if you j-juh-join us." Bill added. "Join who?" The tall one asks. "The Losers Club."
