chapter sixteen

'I love you too asshole. Now go to sleep.'

Richie woke up to the sound of birds chirping. He slowly opened his eyes and stretched himself out. The boy wanted to grab his glasses off of his nightstand, only for his hand to fall on Eddie's face. He shot up but quickly calmed down as he started to realise where he was and, most importantly, what had happened the night before.

The taller one smiled and searched around for his glasses with his hand. When he finally found them he pushed them up his nose and grabbed his phone to check the time. It was 08:09 AM. He noticed that he had a message and went to open it, but then the boy next to him started stirring and slowly his eyes fluttered open.

"Morning sunshine." Richie said while leaning in and giving Eddie a peck.

Eddie's face scrunched up and he rubbed his eyes while sitting up, "Don't kiss me, you probably have morning breath." Richie sighed and threw and arm around Eddie, his hand resting on the smaller one's waist.

"But I wanna kiss youuu." Richie whined.

Eddie turned his head to look at Richie, he took in the boy's features. Richie's curls were even wilder then normal because Eddie had kept running his hand through it, his lips were slightly chapped but Eddie loved them. He closed his eyes, huffed out a breath of air and said, "Fine. But just this one time."

Richie smiled at him while leaning in. He pecked Eddie's lips and pulled back a little but Eddie grabbed Richie's face and pulled him back in the kiss.

When they pulled back, Richie had a question burning inside of him, "Soo..." he said.

"What?" the smaller one asked.

"Will you go on a date with me?" Richie asked carefully, hope laced in his voice.

"I would love to." Eddie repeated, while taking Richie's hand in his.

Eddie layed his head against Richie's shoulder and closed his eyes again. Richie smiled down at him and kissed the top of his head. The ravenette opened his phone again to check his messages, he had one from his mom who asked if the two boys were coming over again.

"Mom asked if we're gonna visit today." Richie told the brunette who was leaning his head against Richie's chest now. A hum came from the smaller one so Richie replied with a short message that she would definitely see the boys again.

"We should get breakfast, I'm starving." the ravennette announced.

"Are you kidding me? You ate almost all the snacks last night, you pig." Eddie laughed back at him before standing up and stretching out.

A few months had passed and quite a lot had happened. Richie had turned 19, so he got his own place. Richie's dad was arrested for abuse, but also for things like possesion of drugs etc. ,which Richie didn't even know about, so he was spending his time in jail now. His mom got out of the hospital and was leading a normal, healthy, non-toxic life again. She also moved out of the house, into an appartment, since she was living alone now and she didn't want to be reminded of her ex-husband there. Henry had a restraining order from Eddie, but not that it mattered at the moment because he was also sentenced to juvy for abuse on a minor and murder. Eddie was basically living with Trashmouth Tozier by now. Most of his nights were spend in Richie's bed, curled up to his boyfriend. Yes, boyfriend.
