I stared out the window, wearing a thick hoodie, another zip up sweater over top and a blanket on top of that. I liked the snow, but I was pretty bad at withstanding the cold.

Right now, Bakugo and Todoroki were out doing their final class to get their provincial hero licenses, and I was excited for when he would officially be a hero. I thought a lot about what would happened, and I knew for sure that nothing would probably change between us other than the fact that we had mutual consent to be closer to one another. I knew he wouldn't like anything public, but I was excited to touch him more.

Maybe he'll kiss me again.

"Mitsuha!" I turned watching as Kirishima burst out laughing with a finger pointed to me, "Why are you so bundled up?! The heaters on you know!"

"Shut up! I'm not good with the cold!" I retorted, glaring at him as he continued laughing.

"You look like a big fluffy fat cat!"

I dropped my blanket, stomping over to male I picked up one of the couch pillows and mercilessly smashed it over his head as he continued to laugh.

Later that afternoon after classes, I struggled once again to get into my shoe locker, shivering slightly at the cold. Sure, everyone else kept on saying the heaters were on and yeah, in the classroom it was fine, but I couldn't help but feel cold all alone in front of my shoe locker near the exit doors. To make it worse, I stayed behind to go over something with Iwazumi-sensei, meaning I was probably going to have to run back to the dorms by myself.

"Mitsuha!"

I jumped slightly, turning to see Bakugo jog up to me with the biggest grin I've ever seen, "Look!"

I stiffened as he shoved something in my face. Narrowing my eyes, I read the card and ignored how weird he looked in his picture. It was his provincial hero license.

"I did it! And I've already beaten up some villains too! I'm officially your hero, Mitsuha!"

My eyes widened at his words, he almost sounded like a little kid.

At first I wanted to make some sarcastic remark or something, but I just couldn't now, not with his smile and certainly not after what he said to me.

"I'm officially your hero!"

I smiled, jumping forward and wrapping my arms around him, "I'm so glad, Bakugo-kun! Thank you, for being my hero!"

-

I held the bag of spicy Doritos in my hands as I walked out to the common room, blinking at how Kirishima rubbed the back of his head and Bakugo burst out laughing - Kirishima had probably told him about the incident the other day when I hit him with the pillow for laughing at me.

Frankly, he deserved it.

"Bakugo-kun." I called out, handing him the bag, "You're congratulatory present."

He blinked, taking the bag and ripping it open, "Do you keep a secret stash of these or somethin?" He asked, popping one in his mouth and chewing.

I rose my hands, "You'll never know."

Kirishma reached into the bag, quickly stealing one and shoving it in his mouth as Bakugo yelled at him, but his anger faded when Kirishima choked on the spice.

"Oh my god!" He groaned, making Bakugo chuckle.

"Idiot. Shouldn't have taken one."

"How are you eating those?!"

The male imitated me, raising his hands, "You'll never know."

I smiled at Kirishima's frown, and placed a hand on Bakugo's shoulder, "I'm gonna go work on my project. See you later." I began to walk away without waiting for a reply, Bakugo and I had already talked about keeping our relationship on the down low for now - we didn't want any unneeded attention on the two of us.

I took a breath, thinking about how soon we would be second years.

"Mitsuha-san!" I stopped, turning from the hall leading to my room to Aizawa as he walked into the room, Iwazumi-sensei beside him with a worried smile.

"What is it?" I asked, turning back around to face them completely.

"You have a visitor..." Iwazumi trailed off as my mother came from around Aizawa and jogged up to me.

My eyes widened and for some reason a wave of fear came over me. I went to take a step back, but my mother grabbed my hands. When I looked into her eyes, they were wide and blood shot, as if she hadn't slept and had only spent the last few days crying over what had happened.

Her hold on my hands got tighter, and my throat locked.

"Mitsuha-chan!" She whined, tears rising in her eyes, "Your father... he wasn't completely wrong in what he did, right?! His actions can be justified can't they?! He never hurt you after all, and besides, it's not like the heroes were ever there for you - or any of us! He did this to help us, he just wanted to help us - he's not a bad man!"

My shoulders slumped as I listened to her rant to me, she asked me those questions probably because she still loved him too much to think so bad of him, to ever hate him - and I understood that. But up until now I've always just nodded along so my parents would shut up. But this time, I couldn't stay silent. I couldn't actually let her believe what she was saying.

"No." I spoke, my voice clear.

"What...? What do you mean, no?"

"Dad was wrong. He was wrong and he can't be justified, not at all!" I rose my voice, yanking my hands away from hers, "He went after me, and for what?! Just because of some villains ideals?! It's not right mom, none of it is right! No matter how justified the outcome he believed in seems, the way they're getting to that outcome is too cruel to really be considered a good thing anyways! How could you even think what he did was okay?! He's the reason I was kidnapped, he's the reason I became a burden to everyone! He's the reason that I-"

I chocked, stopping myself before I could continue saying anything out loud. I rose my hands to wipe my tears, turning away from the woman before me who just stared, her eyes blank and her mouth half open.

"Bakugo!" I called out for help, and he was by my side in a second, a hand on my shoulder.

"I think you need to leave." He began, addressing my mother.

She gasped in shock, and her voice quickly became angry, "You can't tell me what to do! I hired you to protect my daughter from villain attacks, not from me! Get away from her, you brat! You stupid hero kids, you don't know anything!"

He grabbed my mothers wrist as she reached for me, and the look of shock on her face made my heart churn.

But I couldn't do this, I couldn't handle my mother like this - she needed professional help, not me. I wouldn't be able to handle all of the things that are hurting her, I can't be her outlet for her emotions no matter how much I love her and no matter how much I know she loves me.

Right now, I knew what was best, and unfortunatley it was going to hurt me no matter what.

"I was told to protect Mitsuha against anything that threatened her. And I promised to do just that, and right now you're heads way too loose on your shoulders, can't you see that?! You're scaring her, you're freaking all of us out!"

I took hold of Bakugo's shirt, watching as my mother looked around to the others, seeing there alerted expressions, as if ready to step in as well.

With that, Aizawa stepped in and led my mother away.
