A new start

Once I had calmed down and was sure that I wouldn't cry I looked around for a clue and saw the clue

In the night follow the lights that shine and glow
People who know what they are
Like the fire that shows

Well that seemed easy enough he is talking about stars which means I'll have to stay up all night I was not looking forward to that

I went back down and saw cloud he nudged me with his nose as if telling me to explain

"Sky set up some sort of treasure hunt to get into those rooms" I explained

Cloud nodded like he understood

I sat leaning against the bottom of the ladder with cloud asleep on my lap I held the feather on my necklace and remembered how I had met sky he had fallen out of the sky and scared me but I found out he was really nice and started to fall in love with him

I looked up at the stars but I couldn't see any that formed a trail then out of the corner of my eye I saw a light flicker

Of course! He was talking about fireflies not stars! I realized

"Cloud" I whispered trying to wake him up but he was still snoring quietly

"Cloud wake up" I said louder

This time he quickly perked his head up wondering what was wrong glancing around

I looked over at the firefly and saw it move into the woods it light up and then saw almost a hundred more flash in response they were forming two lines as if making a path

Cloud was them and we both looked at each other before I nodded and we both rushed ahead down the path as we passed the fireflies I saw that they stopped lighting up

I couldn't run as fast as cloud so he slowed down to match my pace and then I tripped and saw the ground rush up to meet me I fell face first on the ground 

"Ouch that hurts" I said touching my nose carefully

My leg stung and my nose was bleeding

Cloud ran up to me and layed down next to me as if telling me to climb into his back

I rolled into his back and he got back up and started walking down the path I noticed he was trying to be careful not to go to fast or move me around

"Thanks buddy" I said

Cloud nodded as if he was saying your welcome

"I think I only twisted my ankle I'll be fine walking" I stated

Cloud barked as if saying no

I didn't argue anymore but pet his head wondering how strong he must be to carry me

Eventually we got to the end of the path of must be been at least since there was a tree in the way and the fireflies didn't light up anymore

"I'm getting off I think I can walk now" i said

Cloud didn't argue with me this time and let me down I wobbled a bit when I got off and Cloud rushed towards me to steady me but I managed to gain my balance without his help

"It's okay I'm fine" I said

I looked around at the tree circling it but I didn't see anything when I came back around Cloud was digging

"What are you doing cloud?" I asked the wolf

He turned to me barked and then kept digging

"Whatever I'm going to look for the clue" I said

I touched the tree and brushed my hand along the bark I knocked on the tree trying to find a hollow spot after I had tried everything I sat down frustrated and watched Cloud still digging Cloud was a pretty wolf he was gray except for his vanish brown underbelly and paws he had bright blue eyes that sparkled with excitement as he kept digging eventually be stopped digging

"Give up?"  I asked

Cloud barked and looked into the hole

I got up and went over to him and saw a box in the hole

"You are a smart wolf Cloud" I said petting him

I reached down and picked up the box I set it on the ground and opened it I saw an egg it was huge with brown and green scales there was a note on the inside of the box lid

Dear June

Within this egg is a baby Dragon it is the key to unlocking the door it's a forest Dragon who can help you and will give you and the wolf someone else to play with see you soon

I didn't care that I now had a dragon or the fact that it could open the door the only part of the letter that excited me was the see you soon it left me with a ton of questions but the biggest one was.. when? When would I get to see sky's face again? I missed sky so much I missed his laugh and his smile

I picked up the Dragon egg and me and Cloud walked home when we got home the sun was rising i went to my bed and laid the egg down on a nest of blankets I created

Cloud jumped up on the bed normally I would've told him no but I was too exhausted

Cloud curled around the egg

I curled around it too and we both kept it warm

I fell asleep to the sound of Cloud softly snoring

I actually did it i posted exactly when I planned to so from now on I'll try to post every Monday hopefully that will not be a lie and I won't be lazy anyhow I am going to go watch funny cat videos till next time
