Both father and daughter arrived at the stadium, like every day of that week. Breakfast had been a little uncomfortable. Joachim tried to talk with her, and she... didn't want to. He told her how in a week they were going to have their real house in Munich, at the end of the Euro-playoffs's matches, and how she was going to start the school there. As usual, she just stared. She didn't want to live with him, nor go to classes, nor exist. She knew she was being very pessimistic, but it was her only way of thinking.
However, that day definitely became worst. After giving the instructions to the German team, he walked straight to her.
'Catalina, I forgot to comment you something' he started 'Tomorrow we will be travelling to Poland, for the match and well, you must come with me'
'Wh-what?' she answered, surprised.
'What I've told you... Look I know it's annoying but..'
'I'm not going' she said 'I'll stay here'
'What? You are coming with me, either you want or not. I won't leave you here' he said in a very tough voice.
By this time, the team had noticed the argue, and they were expected at what was happening.
'You left me once when I was a child, It will make no difference if you do it twice' she finished, almost breaking.
The tension between them had now spread all around the place. Catalina turned round and went to her common seat. She wouldn't cry. She was strong and that part of her past didn't affect her at all. She wasn't hurt by the fact her father had continued with his happy life leaving her behind, without missing her. She had learned to bury it in the deepest rooms of her heart.
Joachim shook his head and saw the people watching the situation.
'Haven't I told you what to do?' He yelled, furious 'C'mon guys, we have a fucking match tomorrow that we cannot loose, so focus your fucking self'
Everybody obeyed without saying a word. Despite the fact they'd never seen the coach like that, the reasons were obvious.
'Ugh, what a stupid life' Catalina thought. Time was passing by slower that the other days. The players were stressed. They didn't talk. 'Even Gotze is serious' Wait... Had that come out from her mind? She closed her eyes and delated that little thought out of her mind.
'WATCH OUT' someone screamed. Catalina opened quickly her eyes, to see how a football ball hit her in the head.
'Ouch' she exclaimed, while she herd the team laughing. 'WHO WAS?' she asked, standing up.
Everybody looked at Podolski, who was throwing his arms in the air apologizing. 'It was me! Sorry' He said smiling.
She rolled her eyes and sighed.
'I bet she can not hit him back' A voice with no face was heard.
While the others laughed, Catalina found Gotze approaching to her, showing a malicious grin in his face.
She was not going to enter in that game, but as she turned around to get to her seat, the boys started to shout.
'Coward!' Reus started. 'Someone is frightened' Muller continued. 'Chicken' Mario finished, turning away from her.
Suddenly, he fell the ball hitting in his back.
'Don't call me chicken ever again' she said.
'Ok! So this is a fight I see' Mario aswered in a playfull tone.'C'mon guys, let's show her what we can do'
He kicked the ball towards her, and when she had it in her feet, they started to chase her. She didn't do anything but run, with the ball on her feet.
Like if it would've been planned, they parted in two teams of five members. Gotze, Muller, Kroos, Poldi and Ozil were one team, and in the other Reus, Durm, Schrrule, Kramer and Catalina . They played like kids, while the rest of the team rested and watched them.
'GET HER GOTZE' Muller shouted when Catalina took the ball from him.
'CROSS IT GIRL' Durm exclamed to Catalina.
The blond girl didn't think to much and took the ball, holding it in her hands. Behind her the nine players stated to shout and laugh.
Catalina kept on running. After a long time, she was laughing again. She was about to reach the goal, when Gotze appeared from her left, and pulled her to the grass.
'Hasta la vista, baby' he told her making his voice tougher. They dropped on the floor. For a moment, they looked at each other, feeling some kind of electricity. Just for one simple moment. They stoop up quickly and kept on playing with the others.
Joachim, who had gone for a while to clear his head, saw the situation.
'What are they doing?' he asked himself in a whisper.
'Helping you' aswered Bastian Schweinsteiger from behind.
The coach stayed quiet, looking to his daughter, who was finally enjoying something. A little half-smile found itself in his face. However, he knew deep inside what Catalina had told him was true. He had left her behind, and he couldn't conceal that.
