Catalina woke up early in the morning. She went to the kitchen to prepare some coffee. On the table where she decided to have breakfast there were some newspapers and gossip magazines.

"A VERY LOW-NIGHT
As you know, apart from the championship, our football team coach has brought a daughter from South America, who was showed yesterday at  the party they had. She's seventeen and definitely does not look like Jogi at all (in fact, there are rumours that she is only a 'gold digger'). Anyways, we are here to discuss our little outsider girl's outfit. She was dressed with... "

'Stop reading that' Joachim said with a tough voice. Her hair was disheveled and her eyes were still trying to wake up.

Catalina jumped back a little and dropped the magazine. 'It was the only one in English, I just wanted to read what they say...'

'Don't do it, there are a bunch of worthless people who think they can say whatever they want about anyone'

'Ok... I just... it's not necessary to insult the journalists'

'That's the difference. They are not journalists. They're liars'

Catalina could see irritation in his look. 'It's ok. You're not used to this magazines, are you?'

'I train a team, I don't play Big Brother' he answered taking a sip of coffee.

'I'm sorry, so' she muttered looking down.

'It's not your fault, obviously, I'm just tired'

'Have you finished that paperwork of yours?' Catalina asked, remembering the past weeks, when her father was absence for much of the day justifying he had things to solve out.

Joachim coughed a little, nervously.

'Um.. no, I mean, yes, but it's complicated, so... it takes time'

She didn't say anything more.

'Hey! We have training in these days, would you like to come? Mario will be there' he exclaimed in an attempt to lighten the mood.

Catalina's eyes opened wide. What about that comment about Mario? 'If I can pull myself out of the bed...then yes'

He nodded, with a little laugh.

'Jogi... what happened with your wife?' she suddenly asked. Catalina had been asking herself that since she arrived to Germany and as her father never mentioned, she decided to do the best activity she could do: asking uncomfortable and misplace questions.

The old man took a big breath. He knew he had no choice but the truth. 'She left me the minute we found out about you. She started the divorce paperwork two minutes later'

His eyes showed a strange grey-sadness-colour. She could read the lost in his face and how disappointed he was with this new life.

'I'm sorry, again' she said weakly.

'That wasn't your fault at all, little miss. Eventually we have to pay for our adventures in the past'

He stood up and left the table. Catalina could feel blame taking on her, knowing she had been very selfish. It was time for her to think properly and start placing her little part of sand in the heap.

A month has passed by. Things had got better between Catalina and Joachim. And Catalina and the world. She had been learning to be more tolerant and respect what fate has conceal for her while his father had given the best of his to be a dad. Owing to this, Joachim made a mental note in his mind to remember December 22nd, the day his daughter would be turning eighteen.
