Cian P.O.V
While it didn't instantly mean that Gale wasn't one hundred percent aboveboard with me or innocent of leaking things he shouldn't, that also didn't mean he wasn't.Most would only assume that these 'precocious' teens had perhaps just tattled for bullying them a bit, not gone missing. That was a big leap, one that was perhaps due to having some hand in it.
It also didn't help or sit well with me that it seemed he had been lying- trying to backtrack and cover what had slipped out when he wasn't paying attention. More likely than not, he was probably going to be careful for a good while if he was doing anything questionable....
It hurt me to think that I was actually questioning the loyalty of someone I've been friends with for so long. It hurt that I had to. It hurt that it seems I had reason to. I was never one to overlook such things like most would, wanting to believe and trust someone that had yet to let them down; wanting to see the best in the people around them.
I wasn't a good person. There were many things done that were at best grey areas, such as the drugged blood calling to me from my fridge's hidden compartment. As someone that wasn't good, I shouldn't be surprised that those around me weren't either. I just never thought that they would be so much deeper in the mire I only recently realized was in my own backyard.
Dialing a number I didn't often use, the ringing cut, followed by tapping and crinkling before several clicks and a computerized voice came clearly through the phone, "Cy, been a while since you last called on me. What do you need?"
"I need..."
Angel P.O.V
"....But I don't want to~!" The sound of Aeri wheedling and whining filtered through the fog that still held me in its grasp. "Not only do you want me to babysit later on my own, but you also want me to take on that icky guy again? He-he sweats like a slug and smells like a latrine!"
"Aeri, we've been through this. You can have fun, but we also have to show our hospitality every so often to our platinum clients. He happens to think one night with you is worth any moderate price fluctuations or late orders. And you only need to do this when the contract expires, and you know that Master always works hard to extend the contract out."
"It's not fair! Why can't Aeon do it?"
"Because Aeon has his own clients to please- several more than you have, in fact."
Aeri's muttered words were just loud enough to reach all ears, "Bet he doesn't have sweaty sacks of smelly fat to fu-"
"Aeri!" The woman's scolding voice cut across the space, causing me to wince. Knowing that it was unrecoverable, I shifted and made a whining sound before relaxing back into what I hoped was a resettled sleeping state.
It was quiet for a while, eyes falling on me like drops of water. I really started to wonder if it weren't better for me to have actually 'woken up' rather than pretend to still be in a drugged sleep.
"I thought he's supposed to sleep for a couple more hours?" It sounded like Aeri stepped closer to me. I could almost feel his breath on my face. "In fact, what should I do when he wakes up? You know me, I'm more likely to accidentally kill a creature than have it live to another day."
I could sense the exasperation filtering into the air from that woman, "Aeri, you probably won't even have to touch him, let alone actually care for him, and its not like he can't handle your excited hugs. It just for a few hours, and he'll either be asleep the whole time, or so groggy that he'll hardly notice you when he does wake up."
"Whatever," I heard a puff of air as a cushion was sat on with attitude, the air leaking out of it painfully. "Just don't take too long."
"Remote, stocked fridge, all channels are unlocked, but keep the noise down," That woman's heels knocked against the carpet, heading away. "And do not leave him alone, Aeri. I'll text you when I'm coming back."
"Yeah, yeah, go ahead and check on whatever we now have to have loaded and deal with all the paperwork and all. I don't care anymore."
The door clicked shut, and my ears picked up her heels clicking down the hallway to the right. The sound of an automatic door was heard after fifteen steps, but the cringe-worthy sound of the television on an action movie of some sort blasted throughout the room before the volume was lowered and the channels were quickly flipped through.
It stopped on some low sound grade moaning sounds, Aeri's own breathing picking up in reaction, "Oh Dorian, I can't wait for our time together." A zipper was heard and some creaking as Aeri started to make some sounds of his own.
It didn't take long for a short lull, as Aeri continued to gasp for air and the channel was changed once more. "I wonder if Sir Gale will only be using Master or some other substitute for his aquisitions this time as well... Too bad we haven't had any time together... That body. Ah- Gale, right there! Mm, taste so good...."
Aeri soon cried out before relaxing back, "I'm so horny- Melissandra, that bitch. She's always gotta mess with me. Angel's knocked out on a whale's load of drugs- she leaves him alone all the time and yet she wants me to babysit him this time?! Totally messing with me. She's just jealous that Master hardly ever even touches one hair on her surgically enhance head."
Aeri seemed to get up, the water soon sounding as he continued venting, "And why should I even listen to her? Angel's supposed to be her responsibility anyway. Won't matter if I'm gone for a bit or not. She won't be able to catch me if I come back before her, and even if I don't, it's not like she can do anything about it."
