Chapter Four

Silas

"you can't break what's already broken."

• • • • •

My bike idles outside the front doors of the gym as I wait for everyone to get there things together.

Mason is leaned against his blue 2007 Audi R8, his bag sitting at his feet. He's got on a black tee shirt with a pair of black skinny jeans and some white adidas sneakers.

His platinum hair hangs above his eyes and he pushes it back before glancing over at me. "You ready for the plan?" He asks, gesturing to the spare helmet sitting on the back of my bike.

I give him a wide smile and crack my knuckles. "Of course I am." I say, just as the front door of the gym opens.

Milo comes out with two bags hanging over his shoulder, the sleeves of his sweater rolled up to his elbows.

Griffin follows behind, dragging Anna along so that she has no escape.

She's wearing a pair of black tights with a white tank top hugging her chest, a set of black Chuck Taylor's on her feet. She pulls her leather jacket closer to herself as the outside air hits her, those green eyes of hers looking around the four of us in question.

"What's going on guys? It's like seven in the morning and you literally took all my stuff and shoved it in a bag." She says annoyed.

Milo drops the two bags he had been carrying by Masons, Griffin doing the same with his own.

"You're coming with us to Staten Island." Mason says coolly.

Anna glances between us all again, her eyes wide. "You're joking right? This is a joke?" She asks.

Milo grabs her hand and pulls her towards me. She almost seems to resist as he tugs her along, stopping her right beside my still running bike.

"You'll be riding with Silas. There's no room in Masons car with the bags and gym gear." He says, handing my spare helmet to her.

She stares at it, her emerald eyes blown wide in terror it seems. She looks up at me before darting her eyes to Milo and then the twins.

"Please tell me you're joking." She says.

Griffin shakes his head and starts to gather the bags from the ground. "Your dad already told us to take you, he said you needed a break from the gym for a weekend." He explains.

"He also said he didn't want to see you until Monday." Milo adds, smiling cheekily at her.

"My dad said this was okay?" She asks disbelievingly.

Milo nods and gives her a reassuring smile. "You know he wouldn't allow it if he was there Ans. There's no chance you'll be running into him in Staten Island." He says, gripping her shoulders in order to hold her in place.

She seems to relax slightly at his words. "You're sure he's not supposed to be there?" She asks, looking between the three of them.
